Chapter 40

The days passed quickly, and everything went smoothly as I continued with my part-time job. It was Sunday today, and I was getting myself ready because I had a shift at the cafe. I was busy organizing my things in my bag.

"I wanted to take you there, but I have to meet my family and relatives today… take care," Alzid told me.

"It's fine, don't worry about it. I can manage, you take care too," I replied to him.

I left ahead of him because, of course, I didn't want to be late. It would be embarrassing if the owner of the cafe was disappointed that he hired me for that job. I arrived at the workplace early and started my shift.

"Is Sir Keith not here?" I asked my coworker, Ella.

"Not yet. I don't know if he's coming to the cafe today. As far as I know, he has something important to attend to," Ella replied.

I just nodded in response.
