Millions of people in the world had complaints about their lives, Wether small or large it was incredibly rare to come across a human being who could not find at least one thing they would want to change. It could something as mundane as having less anxiety or wanting to spend some time relaxing after work, Some could be someone as extreme as being rich or becoming incredibly attractive.

In the past when I was a just a young boy who had barely started high school I was undoubtedly on the more extreme side. Growing up lacking many things wealth including I couldn't help but hate my life, A father who drunk beer all day telling me that I ruined his life and a mother who pretended to care and yet the look of hatred in her eye could never be hidden.

Of course with such delightful parents I wasn't the most outgoing and sociable person, To be honest i had spent a couple weeks trying to fit in with others my age but I was quickly labeled as weird and awkward. I wasn't a bad looking guy could be considered a good looking depending on your taste in partners.

With my wavy brown hair that almost fell into my eyes and my slightly lean figure I wasn't bad to look at. I drifted through the first sixteen years of my life wanting better parents, Wanting to be sociable, Wanting to be rice and most of all wanting to find something to live for while feeling trapped with a life that I never asked for.

A couple months after my sixteenth birthday was when everything in my life changed, It was the time when I met a beautiful girl who went to my school at a cafe. Our first meeting was something that left me filling incredibly embarrassed not only because it was the first time such a beautiful member of the opposite gender was talking to me but also because I kept stuttering whenever I spoke.

The girls name was Maya and meeting her was what created light in my life.

Maya was practically the complete opposite of me in every way possible, She was incredibly gorgeous to the point people would stop and stare when she walked by. Unlike my own awkward personality Maya was very outgoing and very easy to get along with, She could be friends with almost anyone and she didn't care what other people thought about her.

Maya was also hugely popular around school, Not only due to her personality but with her face of perfection it was impossible for a school of teens to not fall for her charm. Adding to the fact that Maya was a very well endowed girl who had curves in all the right paces even though she was only sixteen it was obvious that the entire population of boys were head over heals for her.

At first Maya was my only friend in this world which was quite pathetic, Every time we spoke and hung out filled me with endless joy and I started to get feelings I couldn't understand until I finally did. I had fallen for the outgoing and beautiful girl but I was quickly filled with anxiety and fear after realizing.

I didn't understand wether I was one of Maya's many friends that she so effortlessly made just by being herself or if she thought of me as something more. I was convinced that she didn't care about me like I did to her and yet on a random evening when me and Maya had gone out to watch a new horror movie I came to a conclusion.

I was a coward.

It was something I always knew and yet when I said it in my head as I was walking beside the girl I had fallen for it stung my heart. So I did something I had never done before, I chose to take the risk and convey my feelings even if it ruined the only friendship I had.

With a racing heart, A stuttering voice and a beat red face I confessed to her under the dark sky filled with stars. Although I had found my courage I had never forgot the fact that I really stood no chance, And yet when Maya accepted my confession with a blush on her face I was so ecstatic that i even believed I was in a dream for a couple of seconds.

That was how I met Maya and how she became my one and only girlfriend, And just like that the life I had so desperately wanted to change was more then enough for me to be happy until I died. High school passed by faster then I could have imagined with Maya by my side and graduation came bringing news that made me flabbergasted.

I had gotten accepted into Bold haven college with a scholar ship, It filled me with a sense of pride that made me look down on other men for a while. Not only was I going to join the most prestigious college in the city but I also had a girlfriend that any guy would kill for.

That was when news came that made me stop and laugh wondering if I had used up all my luck on making Maya fall in love with me, My scholarship was only enough to cover half of my tuition. I was still a broke kid with parents that had long spent all their savings and didn't care what happed to me or what I did.

Bold haven was a prestigious college and so the tuition was a huge sum of money that I couldn't work in my free time to pay it off. I was left heartbroken feeling nothing but pathetic and yet when I was left at one of the lowest points in my life the beautiful angel that was Maya held me in her arms and told me that she would pay the remainder of the tuition.

Maya wasn't stupid but when it came to school she was undoubtedly a bottom half student, it was onto through countless study sessions that I helped her pass her classes and she had numerously told me long ago that she couldn't mentally handle collage and wanted to work in a comfortable office job or somewhere she could laze off.

Maya said she she had been looking for jobs for a while and that she had found one that paid very well so it wasn't a issue to pay my tuition. I was very confused on how she managed to find not only a job so fast before we even graduated but also one that could pay such a enormous fee, But despite my confusion I had unshakable trust in Maya so I could only feel even more love then I had ever felt.

That was almost a year ago today.

Things had changed completely and I was at the happiest point in my life feeling as if I was floating on cloud nine, I moved out from my parents house and blocked all contact with them while Me and Maya had moved into a nice one bedroom apartment on the eastern side of the city around a ten minute walk from bold haven.

We were nineteen year olds, To old to be called teens anymore and yet still to young to be called adults. I went to classes almost everyday studying for a a degree in digital engineering while Maya went to work, I showered Maya with so much love that she said she was lucky to find me and yet I knew that I was the lucky one and that no one could ever come close to the prize that was my girlfriend.

Maya not only paid my tuition but she paid the rent as well as other expenses, Electrify, Water, Food, internet, Hell she even made sure I had pocket change to get anything I wanted. I always found it astonishing that she was able to make so much to support us and I had even jokingly asked if her job was hiring new people a couple of times.

In all honesty I was very suspicious of this job of hers, I didn't want Maya doing something illegal or get caught up in some scan but I knew she wasn't stupid. She told me that it was nothing but a cushy office job and the reason she got paid so much was because she worked with sensitive information.

I had no doubt in my mind that Maya was telling the truth until the day I found out about her real job and how she made the money to support us.
