Chapter 121: A Special Meeting

After hanging up the phone, William walked over to Sophie and Landon, apologetically saying, "I have to go. There's something I need to take care of. I hope the next time we meet, it will be at your wedding, and hopefully with your child, my godchild. That would be really fun."

"Get out of here, William. We're not having a child before marriage," Sophie said with a laugh.

Landon, on the other hand, asked worriedly, "Did something happen? Is it related to us? William, please tell me and Sophie. I don't want Sophie to be in danger."

Hearing this, Sophie immediately looked at William nervously.

William thought that if he could keep these two together for a long time, the next time they met, they might really have a child.

So, pretending to be troubled, William said seriously, "Something did happen. My people found out that the Bright Society is preparing to offer 20 million dollars to Teabing. Although they don't know Teabing is dead, you can imagine that the Society will not give up on finding the Holy Grail and Sophie. So, I hope you can stay in Ireland for a while. Once I take care of the Society, we can decide what to do next."

Sophie and Landon, having personally experienced Teabing's murderous intent and the fanatical albino of the Bright Society, were now very afraid of the Society. Hearing William's words, they quickly nodded in agreement.

William was pleased that they listened to him. It seemed that the best way to deal with these do-gooders was to use their safety to scare them, without giving them a chance to argue.

William called the hotel to book a small private plane for a direct flight to London. At 4 PM, as soon as William got off the plane, the Four Seasons Hotel's car was already waiting for him at the airport. After getting in the car, William instructed the driver to head to Kensington.

At 4:30, William met Prince Wilson waiting for him outside Kensington Palace. They hadn't seen each other for many days. After a hug, Wilson said, "William, are you really going to see my grandfather? He really hates being disturbed."

William, smiling at the concerned Wilson, said, "It's okay. I really have something important to discuss with King Philip. It will be fine."

Seeing William's confident look, Wilson stopped worrying. "Come on, take my car. I'll take you to Buckingham Palace."

"Okay, thank you, Wilson."

"You're welcome. We're friends, William." The two chatted happily in the car on the way to Buckingham Palace.

In less than 20 minutes, they arrived at Buckingham Palace. William, carrying a wooden box, entered the palace with Wilson under the guidance of the guards. After two security checks, they were led by an elderly butler into a palace. After waiting outside for a few minutes, William and Wilson were told they could go in.

King Philip, Prince Charles, and Grand Duke Devon were waiting for William in a reception room.

After greeting King Philip, Prince Charles, and Grand Duke Devon, Wilson tactfully left the room.

King Philip, an elderly man in his 80s, looked energetic and well-groomed in a black suit, with meticulously combed hair and bright eyes. Upon seeing William, he laughed heartily and stood up.

William hurriedly approached and, as instructed by the butler, greeted King Philip with a formal court bow. King Philip smiled and shook hands with William.

"Alright, little guy from the Devonshire family, I officially permit you to skip the court bow next time you see me, just like how Baron Hunt doesn't have to remove his hat when meeting the King of England. This will be a unique privilege of the Devonshire Earldom."

King Philip's words made Grand Duke Devon and Prince Charles laugh. They were helpless against William's ignorance of noble etiquette. With so much money, William could easily find a suitable etiquette teacher.

But William's behavior today showed he didn't care about noble etiquette, nor did he seem to care much about the earldom title.

Their laughter left William a bit helpless. He really didn't want to live such a complicated life. Noble rules were too numerous: dining had etiquette requirements, speaking had etiquette requirements, dressing had requirements, and even taking a bath had brand requirements. God, just thinking about it made William feel exhausted.

I'd rather be a wealthy man, William thought. After they finished laughing, Grand Duke Devon approached and gave William a hug, then patted William's shoulder forcefully. "Henry would be very pleased with your achievements now. Well done. Welcome back to our big family. I hope you can visit Devonshire County when you have time."

William smiled and nodded. "Sure, Your Grace. I'll definitely visit when I have time. Thank you for your support last time. My mother often tells me about you and Henry's stories."

"Oh, William, shouldn't you call me grandfather? I am your true grandfather."

William thought to himself, Where were you when my mother and I were struggling? You only showed up because I have money and can inherit the earldom. However, he wasn't foolish enough to say it out loud. "Alright, grandfather, it's good to see you."

The Grand Duke finally smiled, "Great, remember to visit my estate often."

As for Prince Charles, William simply shook hands and greeted him. After all, their relationship had been good since they acted together in front of the paparazzi. Otherwise, William wouldn't have called Prince Charles when he wanted to meet King Philip.

After the butler brought in coffee and snacks, the four of them chatted over afternoon tea. After half an hour, King Philip spoke up, "Alright, William, tell us why you were so eager to meet us three."

William, pretending to be hesitant, looked around, then at Prince Charles. Prince Charles immediately understood, "Don't worry, this is the palace. It's very secure with anti-surveillance equipment."

In fact, William had already scanned the room with his mental power during afternoon tea. Contrary to what Prince Charles said, there were quite a few hidden cameras and listening devices. The royal family didn't trust William as much as he had imagined. His every move was likely being monitored by the palace guards. William believed that any unusual action would immediately bring the guards rushing in.

Shaking his head, William said to Prince Charles, "Sorry, Your Highness, what I'm about to say is extremely important and can only be heard by the four of us. Henry didn't teach me much, but he taught me everything about special operations, so I apologize, but I can't say it here."

King Philip, Prince Charles, and Grand Duke Devon were shocked by William's straightforwardness. King Philip and Grand Duke Devon exchanged a look, wondering if this had anything to do with the Devonshire family secret.

Would William be willing to reveal the family's survival secret? There must be more to this.
