Mia ended up accepting Yuzuru's suggestion.
They ordered food that was supposed to be their lunch but it almost felt weird after eating on the plane.
Let's just say that Mia wasn't used to traveling and time differences at all.
It was almost weird that her son was still so energetic. She never understood children, they were just lucky in everything. It seemed as if adapting to opposite timezones was easy for him while his mother just wanted to sleep for the next 24 hours.
They had woken up so early too that she had been up for almost 20 hours now.
Mia reluctantly ate the food they ordered with Yuzuru's careful watch on her. She could feel his worry from the distance and she wondered if she truly looked that bad.
In no time, Alex had finished eating and was in front of the big TV screen that graced the hotel room and connected his Switch to it to play some games.
Mia couldn't help but whine that he only cared about those games and he dared to look guilty before diving into the game once again.
"He will be distracted for a bit, how about you lay in bed for a bit?"
"I will fall asleep."
"That's the goal, Mia." He said with a chuckle and didn't even allow her to complain before getting up and taking her body into his arms, carrying her to bed.
"You're stronger than what you look" she joked and he raised a brow at her.
"You think I hate those comments but I find them funny. You're not the first to say that."
"Hum... I see. Not so fun then."
Yuzuru placed her on the bed and was quick to put the covers over her.
"Yuzu" she whined.
"What is it now?"
"I should change. These clothes are uncomfortable."
Once again he raised a brow at her. "And are you doing that yourself? Unless you want me to do that for you or you're expecting your clothes to magically change..."
Mia groaned in complaint before getting up and looking in her bag for something comfortable to sleep in. She didn't even care if it wasn't her pajamas.
A huge oversized shirt was what she ended up with, she knew it would barely cover her ass, but Mia wasn't in the mood to look for anything else.
She looked back and forth between Alex and Yuzuru before the skater spoke up.
"Go change. I told you, I got him."
The girl took mere seconds to discard her current clothes and change into the shirt before leaving the bathroom.
Mia didn't miss the way he stared her down as she left the small room and for a few seconds, she only wished they were alone and that she wasn't so goddamn tired.
"Hum... Better?" He asked looking at the ground.
"Yeah. Thanks."
Mia walked to the bed and laid down once again, this time feeling the warm covers as he tucked her in like a child.
Looking at Alex for a bit, she noticed how entertained her son was before pulling Yuzuru's arm to her.
"Everything okay?" He asked, trying to understand what she wanted.
"Just lay with me for a bit? Please?"
"You don't have to ask twice."
And she didn't because Yuzuru would take any opportunity that she allowed to be close to her and the worst was that she didn't even mind that Alex could see them cuddling.
He did as she asked and Mia couldn't help but curl into his warm body almost immediately. And he didn't protest either, immediately wrapping his arms around her and caressing her arms with gentle movements.
"Don't fall asleep." She warned Yuzuru, he was supposed to be watching Alex after all.
"I won't, just relax and rest."
It took mere seconds for Mia to fall asleep and Yuzuru just stayed like that while she rested, occasionally taking a peak at what the young boy was doing but also taking the time to watch her now relaxed and sleepy body against him.
It felt incredible to have her like this and he just wondered if they could make it a reality. If he could have her in his arms for the rest of their lives.
Yuzuru would never ask her to change her life to Japan, but he also knew that leaving his home country now wasn't an option either.
In just a few weeks this woman had taken his heart and completely stolen it from anyone else. She was all he thought about and all that he cared for, even with Fantasy on Ice approaching.
It was both dangerous and exciting.
He had never felt like this before. Maybe he had never truly been in love, even if he thought he might have been.
Mia had proven to him that what he felt for her was completely unique to her and it honestly scared him.
Not because of Alex being an inherent part of being with Mia like most would think but because he had a feeling that he was willing to do whatever she asked of him.
But as she lay in his arms he also knew that what she had, no one else ever had. He was so naturally drawn to her that it didn't matter that she didn't want to capture his attention, she would always have it fully.
And as much as it was hard to admit, Alex also had a special place in his heart. He loved the boy almost as much as he loved the mother, even if in different ways.
They initially connected over Yuzuru being one of his favorite skaters but later on, with the asthma and everything, they had found a connection on some things that no one else could understand. Yuzu knew better than most how hard it could be to be competitive when you don't breathe like everyone else, he had experienced it several times throughout his career.
Seeing the boy struggle like he did in the past made him drawn to him. Deep down Yuzuru wanted to always be there for him, maybe even help him reach the higher stage if that's what Alex truly wanted.
Only time would tell if this was even a possibility for them.
