Virtya is sad

"Your majesty! I think we have gone took far." Alexandre yelled to Virtya which woke him up from his stupor.

Virtya looked around and ordered for them to come to a halt. Clearly Virtya had even forgotten that Tanya asked him a question and also Tanya didn't brought up the question once again.

From where Virtya's cohort had come to a halt, he could see that they were on the side of a hill and downhill, he could see some zebras grazing.

This world also had the wildlife that was just the same as that from Virtya's past life, it was just that, there might be a few mutations here and there but the species was still the same.

Coming down from his horse, Virtya caressed its mane and squatted beside it.

"At least it is peaceful here. I feel so energized and on high spirit... The ecosystem is really beautiful especially if it's indigenous but man will destroy all this beauty and autochthonous breed just to pave the way for industrialization. It is sad though. The same people who are spearheading the climate change conferences are the same people who are destroying the world's ecosystem. So despicable and hypocritical." Virtya said, he was a little nostalgic. A look of melancholy was plastered on his face. He shook his head and caressed his forehead. He was dejected and sorry at how the humans will destroy this beautiful world in search of wealth.

"Buddy. What are you talking about? I have accepted that I am a simpleton when it comes to some new things, so, please explain to me what this climate change thing is." Alexandre asked. Just like the others, he had also came down from his horse and he was viewing what Virtya was seeing.

To Alexandre, there was no difference to what he was seeing because this was how the world had been and how it would be, beautiful and a good place to live in but to Virtya, he was comparing his world to this one. He was sad and dejected to the thought that he would be the person who will bring about the destruction of this world through industrialization but what could he do.

What Virtya could do was to try to make this world remain as beautiful as it was by implementing world rules and regulations about industrialization and climate change so that no one in this world would destroy it because they want wealth. But for other kingdoms to listen to Virtya, he first had to be powerful enough so that no nation could go against his words or ignore him.

"Forget it!" Virtya waved at Alexander dismissively. He turned to the taciturn Tanya beside him and asked,

"What do you think about the environment around us? It is perfect, right?"

"Yeah. It is. My dad loved trees and he would punish anyone who did something as little as plucking a bark of his trees. He loved them and up to now, I still take care of them to remind myself of him." Tanya's voice was a bit low but Virtya got what she was saying.

Virtya stood up and walked for a few steps before he plucked a flower from a thorny vine. He sniffed its pleasant scent and walked towards Tanya.

"Don't be sad. I promise you that I will walk in your father's ways. I will make sure that this beautiful ecosystem doesn't die." Virtya gave the flower to Tanya and he could see that her forlorn expression died a little.

"Thanks." Tanya answered.

"Now, let's go back. I need to initiate the construction of the glass plant." Virtya said but Alexandre was not happy, he stomped his foot on the ground and said,

"Your majesty, we haven't drunk anything to make the coming here memorable. How could we go back just like that? I think we should drink something. I came here with enough wine just for the three of us. What about we share this wine from my best brewmaker."

Virtya climbed on to his saddle and held the reins of the horse.

"We don't have much time Alexander, I will make up for it when we get back to Whiten. In addition, don't forget that December is just around the corner, we have a big celebration on the 24th, at that time, there will be great people around and it will be fun to drink with them." Virtya beckoned to Tanya and they turned to leave. Alexandre picked up a stone and threw it downhill before he gulped down a mouthful of wine from his gourd. He grimaced and climbed on to his horse.
