CHAPTER 22

Tessa was stupefied when she heard Edward's words, she didn't know this was the case if she knew she wouldn't have come. 

She wondered if her father knew about this, but he just kept it away from her, she believed her father didn't know, if he knew he would've told her, so she would've come prepared. 

Regardless of the case, Tessa took her seat close to the three ladies, she would've walked away, but she was already here, and it made sense if she had competitors and the head commander wanted to settle it this way.

The three ladies were no doubt beautiful, but they had their downside, and so did she also have her downside.

Edward smiled when Tessa sat down, he gestured to the menu on the tables. 

"So what should we order"

The first lady sounded. 

"I would go for whatever you like"

Edward's cheeks moved, and his eyes moved to the second lady and the third lady, they both said the same thing. 

"Whatever you like"

Edward's attention finally moved to Tessa, it was more like everyone's attention was on her. 

Tessa was checking the menu when Edward asked. 

"Miss Tessa, would you like to order anything"

Tessa closed the menu, she heard the rest ladies' words, it was surprising and a bit smart. 

She managed to pull a half smile. 

"I would go with my competitors, it would be wrong to have a separate dish on the table"

Edward's cheeks moved, he raised his hand and a waiter quickly attended to him. 

Edward gave the waiter his order before he faced the ladies again. 

"Before that comes, how about we get to know each other"

He pointed to the piece of paper close to the menu, Tessa and the rest of the ladies picked up the piece of paper, Edward had already outlined some questions on the piece of paper. 

Tessa's eyes moved to the first question, she wanted to scan through it when Edward sounded. 

"How many kids would you like to have"

The first Lady sounded again. 

"I would go with whatever you want"

"Oh really"

Edward smiles as he nods to the First Lady's words, he faces the rest of the ladies and they both concur with the First Lady. 

"Miss Tessa, how many kids would you like to have"

Once more, everybody's attention was on Tessa. Tessa dropped the piece of paper back, since Edward would be calling the questions, there was no need to look at them, she would answer all of them straight away. 

Tessa faced Edward and sounded. 

"Four"

Edward was dumbfounded, he quickly asked. 

"Gender"

"Three boys, one girl. Accordingly"

Edward's cheeks moved, and he placed his hands on the table.

"I think that is great. The boys would grow up fast to protect their little sister.

"From heartbreaks and other dangerous things that can happen to a girl, you know women are fragile. Isn't that why you wanted three boys first before the lady comes in"

The rest of the ladies were already getting some negative thoughts about Tessa, she should've just followed the flow, and let their greatest weapon decide for them, which was their beauty, but Tessa was heading to a different path.

She was only making the discussion longer, at the end of the day, Edward had already decided before he started the questioning. 

The beauty of a lady was all that matter, the inside and personal preference didn't matter at all, those were all lies, if not, people would've been saying they married an ugly wife, but with a good heart and a good sense of reasoning. 

The finest girl would always be the winner in any girls' competition, the finest girl would always attract men.

Beauty was all that mattered. 

Everybody's attention was on Tessa once more, Tessa answered with a deadpan expression. 

"No, I wanted to be stress-free before the lady comes in. If I had a lady first, who would dare to bully her, and same with the boys"

Tessa placed her hands on the table, she didn't like how this was turning out, but she had to manage, if she just walked away, it would be two times that she had failed to secure a high-ranked person. The family elders would definitely not be happy. 

She had to at least see this through. 

Edward faked a half smile, he believed his words were correct but Tessa didn't want to support him so she said something else. 

Even though he guessed wrongly, she should've agreed with him, he was the judge here, she should try to give him some credit just like the rest ladies. 

The rest ladies had height, and voluptuous figures, Tessa only had a striking mouth. 

She wasn't all that bad in the beauty aspect though, but her short hair gave her the wrong vibe, she was more like the action type of person, which it seemed to be. 

Edward didn't like these kinds of people, he preferred a tender lady who would obey his every instructions, but he found Tessa interesting. 

As much as he wanted a lady he could easily control, Tessa had a strange aura that he could not resist. 

"Of course. Who would dare bully my child"

Edward's words caused the rest lady's heart to miss a beat. They looked at Tessa in hate, the chances of them winning Edward was getting slimmer with every word that came out of Tessa's mouth.

Edward's attention moved to the booklet again. 

"Are you a virgin? How long can you last in bed, how many times should lovemaking come in a day, and do you mind being a second wife or a third wife"

The second lady sounded first. 

"Yes, I am a virgin. how long can I last in bed? Well, I would definitely stay until you get exhausted, how many? anytime you want, and.. and. I don't mind being a fourth wife as long as I get everything I want"

The third lady said the same thing, and so did the first lady. 

"As long as I get what I want, I could be the sixth or seventh wife. the position doesn't matter at all"

Edward's cheeks moved to cover his eyes, he faced Tessa. 

"Miss Tessa, what do you think about these questions"

Everybody's attention moved to Tessa once more, Tessa was boiling inside. She couldn't believe the questions and the responses she was hearing from the ladies. 

Well, it might be okay for them, but it wasn't for her. She would soon be the head of the Wood family, her husband shouldn't have a second wife or multiple wives. 

Even if she wasn't going to be the head of the family, she still wouldn't want her husband to have another wife, let alone, three, four, five, and six. 

These ladies were ridiculous, what exactly did they want that they wouldn't mind being the fifth or seventh wife? She tried to understand them but she couldn't. 

Tessa suddenly stood up to her feet, she wasn't angry about marrying another wife, but how Edward was asking the questions didn't feel right, he thought of them like they were his slaves, his pleasure toys, so he could have many of them. 

There was no love in his tone, nothing but superiority. She could never be with a man like this. 

Tessa's fist was vibrating, these military special units, they sure do think of themselves like they were demigods and gods, who gave them the right to ascend to such a level. 

She faced Edward. 

"I think I should take my leave"
