She was sitting comfortably on the carpet, leaning back against the sofa.
"Beer?" Joseph asked her and she shook her head.
"I already had it with Marissa," Joseph came to sit next to her.
"I'm sorry for spoiling your girls' night. I couldn't resist it," his hand brushed her cheek. Sophie turned her face to kiss his palm.
"Don't be silly. Marissa is a sweetheart, and no one understands her better than me and vice versa,"
"Hmm. Now I'm getting jealous," he said with a baby-like pout but smiled when she slapped on his chest.
"You two are the most special people in my life. I respect you both a lot," Sophie stated, leaning her cheek on his arm.
Sometimes she used to get scared. Seeing Marissa's condition made it worse. She never believed in relationships and now the thought of losing Joseph used to give her heart palpitations.
