Nina leaned back in her seat, watching Andrew from beneath her lashes. Her fingers curled around the stem of her half-empty wine glass.
Thanks to the dim lights of the club that had helped in making her face unreadable. Andrew was eyeing her casually, swirling his whiskey in his glass.
There was a playful grin on his face that Nina was trying hard to ignore. She had told him already that she couldn't accompany him because she was with Valerie. Now the same daughter-in-law was nowhere in sight.
Nina thought of her, gritting her teeth secretly.
"You know?" he began in a teasing voice, "Why don't you just leave your daughter-in-law here? Just… let her enjoy the night,"
Like a desperate kitten, Nina again looked at the bar counter where Valerie had disappeared.
"She is probably off dancing somewhere, having the time of her life," he drawled.
