Chen Zhi and the young maid arrived at the kitchen in the back and placed the strung vegetables into plates one by one.
Seizing the opportunity, Chen Zhi started a conversation with a smile, "What's your name?"
"My name is Song Jiamei, 'Jia' as in reward, 'Mei' as in beauty. You can just call me Jiamei," the young maid replied sweetly.
"Is your father Chinese?"
"Yes, my dad is from Z City, and my mom is American. I grew up in Z City, so I'm also from Z City."
Chen Zhi glanced at her; apart from her appearance, in fact, every aspect of her demeanor was just like that of a Chinese person.
"No wonder your Chinese is so good, with a pure Z City accent."
Hearing the praise, Song Jiamei smiled even more brightly, "Everyone thinks I grew up abroad, and some even say I'm an international student. Actually, aside from being half-foreign by blood, I am truly a native of Z City."
