Outside mystic fall deep in the woods over mountain tops near its edge. A fire burns through the night. Giving warmth and shelter to a couple. Both of them were huddled together by the fire as they held onto each other for warmth. They looked oh so happy. But this happiness was coming to an end all too soon.
A crunch of the leaves or maybe a branch was heard by them. The woman looked over to the notice and found no one. The man looked at her and said, "Probably nothing."
She huffed and nodded and snuggled in his chest. Then the smell came, like petrol. It was strong and heavy Infiltrating their nose and overcoming them. The man wasn't sure of it and looked to her and decided to take some measures.
He grabbed hold of his handgun and they got up and looking over into the deep dark of the woods. The fire's light try as hard as they might but can't illuminate the monster staking them.
"Hello!" The man cried out to the woods, "I have a gun… and I'm not afraid to use it."
"Let's just go!" The woman pleaded to him. But no pride cometh before fall.
The scattering of the leaves and the twigs made a noise as the man prepare to take down anything that came. He gripped his gun with fervour and was ready to pull its trigger. But it was nothing more than a critter. They both sighed in relief and the man put his hand down.
"Why would you camp out here?" A calm soothing voice came from behind them as they both turned around. They saw a young man standing by the fire. With his hair like the golden flames.
A smile appeared on his face, as he looked at them. The man prepared his weapon and the woman stopped him, "He's a kid."
"Why would a kid be here? And how the hell did he got here?" The young man laughed and clapped his hands. "You sir have impeccable intuition. I tip my hat to you."
The man took the woman moved her back and said, "Just leave us alone and I promise I will let you go."
The young man wasn't happy with those words as he looked at him and said, "I don't think you understand who the prey is here." His eyes glowed red his sclera turned black. Little veins bulged out near his eyes.
The man shot his weapon but the man moved like a blur and appeared in front of him and said, "You shouldn't have been here. There is an animal on the prowl." The young man opened his jaw bit into the man's neck. The woman cried out in fear and started to run into the woods.
The young man threw the man aside and said, "Now, we hunt." He disappeared into the woods.

(Tom's Pov)
You can drink the packaged stuff all you want but warm blood always hit's different. I got up from my bed and stretched my body. I slept in last night was all kinds of tiering. I scratched my head and looked for my phone. I saw like 10 messages from Bonnie.
"What's up with her?" I shrugged and got up from my bed. I called her number as I walked over to the liquor stand and poured some whiskey into the glass.
"Hey." She answered the call and replied.
"Hey… sorry I was sleeping. What's up?" I took a sip.
"I… I didn't see you last night what happened? I was worried."
I chuckled a little and said, "Ah, that… I had a little tiff with my brothers… sorry to bail. I should have called you."
"Are you okay?" Her voice filled with warmth and concern.
I sat down on the sofa chair and said, "Yeah, yeah… I'm fine… just needed to be alone for a while."
"Okay…" that little pause in her voice eluded that something was amiss and I asked, "Everything okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. It's nothing."
"Doesn't sound like it. Come on what is it?" I poured another one.
"Elena has asked Stefan over for dinner…"
"So?"
"With me there?"
I scrunched my eyebrows and asked, "Why?"
"I don't know… I… it's stupid."
"Obviously it isn't… so come open up… you can tell me."
"I had this bad feeling when I touched him." Those words couldn't have been more alarming for me.
"Oh…"
"Yeah, it was like weird… I don't know, I told Elena to take it easy with Stefan and she didn't like that and now wants me to like him…"
I gulped the whole thing down in one go and said, "Hmm."
"So I wanted you to come… I thought it would be better if you were there. You could act as a buffer."
I sighed and nodded, "But I get it… you're already doing that at home and I don't want to trouble you." She quickly tried to make it clear.
"No, no… I can do it… Dinner with you would be a great. And I'm sure you'll like Stefan by the end of the night. Just tell me when."
"At 6 Elena's house."
"Great see you there." I cut the call and got up from the chair and made my way over to Stefan's room. I found him in the room writing in his journal. He saw me and said, "I didn't see you last night. Where were you?"
"Out… but that's not important." I walked over and I said, "Bonnie touched you and thinks something is wrong with you." he leaned back in the chair and looked at me and I asked, "Why did you let her touch you?"
"It wasn't planned it happened by accident when she was trying to find you." He sighed.
"Well, now we have to go to dinner at Elena's house…"
"You're coming?"
"Bonnie asked me to come."
He sighed and shook his head, "Oh, please don't look so sad I'm not going to eat your precious Elena."
"I know you won't." He looked me in the eye. I rolled my eyes and he said, "What Damon said last night might have been true… to some extent, but I know you won't hurt me."
"That wouldve been nice to hear last night… but right now. We need to make sure that we appear normal."

Bonnie's pov
I was helping Elena set up the food. I was trying to make sense of what was happening to me "You explain it. Last night, I'm watching Nine-o, a commercial breaks come on and I'm like, I bet it's that phone commercial. And sure enough, it's that guy and the girl with the bench, he flies to Paris and he flies back. They take a picture."
"Oh, come on. That commercial's on a constant loop."
"Fine. Well, how about this? Today I'm obsessed with numbers. 3 numbers. I keep seeing 8, 14, and 22. How weird is that?"
"Maybe we should play the lottery. Have you talked to your Grams?"
"She's just gonna say it's because I'm a witch. I don't want to be a witch. Do you want to be a witch?"
"I don't want to be a witch."
Elena looked for a bowl and pulled one from the bottom shelf and poured the pasta into it. I looked at the dish and said, "And putting it in a nice bowl isn't fooling anybody."
"Ok, serving spoons. Where are the serving spoons?"
I sighed and then I got the feeling again like a sudden bolt of thought made me aware of it "Middle drawer on your left."
"Ok, so you've been in this kitchen like a thousand times." She was still a skeptic and I sighed and said, "Yeah, that's it."
The door bell ran and Elena smiled and said, "Ok, they are here. Don't be nervous. Just be your normal loving self."
She left the room and I stood there and there it was again. "Birthday candles." I pulled the drawer and behold birthday candles.
I don't want to be a witch.

Elena opened the door and we both smiled, "Come on guys, come on in."
"Here" I pulled the bottle of wine.
She took it and scrunched her eyebrows, "La Tâche 1962?"
"You're quite there… it's one of my go to wine… Stefan said we'd be eating Italian and I thought… I hope it's okay?"
"Yeah…"
All of us sat down at the table and started to eat. It was a little apparent as to the origins of the food. But why rain on someone's parade.
Elena was the first to break the awkward silence, "So Tom, do you play football? Your brother is very good."
I chuckled and said, "No, I am more of an indoors kind of person… but it's quite true… Stefan was good. Shame though."
I looked at Elena and she she looked confused, she turned to Stefan and asked, "You didn't tell him?"
I looked at Stefan and he said, "I made the team… I'm playing again."
I took a sip of wine and nodded, "That's nice… I hope you do good… who knows maybe you'll go all the way."
Elena looked at me weirdly and then she looked at Bonnie and she said, "You should tell Stefan about your family?"
Bonnie looked at Stefan and politely said, "Um, divorced. No mom. Live with my dad."
Elena looked at Bonnie and said, "No, about the witch stuff. Bonnie's family has a lineage of witches. It's really cool."
I looked at Bonnie and said, "Wow… and you never mentioned it before."
"Who goes around saying they are a witch to a guy they just met." Bonnie countered.
"A possible witch that's who and why would you hide that? It's really cool."
Elena snickered and so did Bonnie, "So what sort of witch are you? The Craft kind or more of wizard of Oz kind of deal?"
Bonnie held in the laugh and said, "My ancestors came by the way of Salem."
"I would say that's pretty cool." Stefan said as he looked at Bonnie. "Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity."
Bonnie nodded, "Salem witches are heroic examples of individualism and nonconformity."
Elena looked at me and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
"I'm trying to imagine Bonnie in a long nose and green skin… that's still very pretty."
The door bell rang suddenly and Elena looked at us and asked, "Who could that be?"
I used my senses and my smile curved down into a scowl and Stefan recognised that. He's here.
