As they entered the room, Sheng Jun and Ma Hongjun found Flender and Xiaogang already engaged in conversation. Clearing his throat, Xiaogang acknowledged their presence and invited them to follow him outside.
Once in the moderately large field, with Tang San now present, Xiaogang addressed him directly. "Tang San, spar with these two one by one so that I can analyze their Martial Spirits in detail"
Tang San nodded in agreement, his gaze shifting between Ma Hongjun and Sheng Jun. "Of course master, let's begin" he replied, his voice calm yet filled with anticipation.
Ma Hongjun grinned eagerly as he stepped forward, his excitement palpable. "Let me go first, Brother Jun" he said, addressing Sheng Jun before turning his attention back to Tang San. With a determined stride, he approached Tang San, eager for the challenge and curious to test the power of his flames against Tang San's plants
As they stepped onto the field, the late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the grassy expanse, lending an aura of anticipation to the atmosphere. The gentle breeze carried the scent of freshly cut grass.
"Ma Hongjun, Level 12 first-ring Attack Power System Spirit Master, Martial Soul Evil Fire Phoenix" Ma Hongjun announced proudly, his voice echoing with confidence.
Tang San nodded in acknowledgment before reciprocating "Tang San, Level 13 first-ring Control System Spirit Master, Martial Soul Blue Silver Grass"
"You are actually Level 13 instead of Level 11? I must say Xiao San you really are too careful" Ma Hongjun shook his head slightly, clearly surprised Tang San's soul power was higher than his.
Xiaogang stood at the edge of the field, his expression composed yet tinged with curiosity. "Xiao Hongjun, we'll be assessing your physical attributes and the intensity of your flames. Keep your Phoenix Nirvana in reserve for now. Tang San, I trust you to bring out his Martial Soul's potential"
Ma Hongjun's muscles tensed, his fiery spirit burning bright within him. "No Phoenix Nirvana" Ma Hongjun nodded confidently, clearly confident in his fighting abilities, after being trained by his good brother for 4 years, he was confident that he wouldn't lose to anyone in a fight, as long as they did not have more experience than him.
Ma Hongjun met Tang San's gaze, a silent understanding passing between them. With a nod, they assumed their respective positions.
Tang San also nodded while staring at Ma Hongjun indicating him to start. Seeing Tang San waiting for him to start, Ma Hongjun smiled "Then here I come!, Martial Soul, Possession!" As Ma Hongjun's words dropped, his transformation took hold, the air around him seemed to shimmer with the intense heat of his Martial Soul. His crimson hair danced in the fiery breeze, and the purple-red flames that surrounded him crackled with almost primal energy, while a pair of fiery wings materialized behind his back.
Tang San watched the transformation with keen interest. The flames cast a warm glow across the field. With a swift movement, Ma Hongjun launched himself forward, his movements fluid and agile despite the fiery aura enveloping him.
As Ma Hongjun launched himself forward, Tang San sprang into action, commanding his Blue Silver Grass with a swift motion. "Bind!" he shouted, and his Martial Soul responded, sending forth a flurry of blue vine-like plants aimed at ensnaring Ma Hongjun.
Ma Hongjun remained composed. His fiery aura blazed fiercely around him, its intensity increasing with each passing moment. With a menacing grin, he directed the searing heat towards the approaching vines, the innate power of his Martial Soul acting as a natural counter to Tang San's plant-based attacks.
The Blue Silver Grass, though resilient, withered and charred upon contact with Ma Hongjun's purple-red flames. Tang San's strategy faltered in the face of Ma Hongjun's overwhelming advantage, the flames proving to be the bane of his Martial Soul. As his Blue Silver Grass wilted and crumbled under the intense heat, Tang San found himself at a disadvantage, his options dwindling with each passing moment.
Realizing that he could no longer rely on his Martial Soul's ranged attacks, Tang San made a swift decision. With a steely resolve, he abandoned his previous tactics and prepared himself for hand-to-hand combat, closing the distance between himself and Ma Hongjun.
Ma Hongjun welcomed Tang San's approach with a grin, his fiery wings spreading wide as he prepared to engage in close-quarters combat. Tang San's movements were swift and precise as he dodged and weaved through Ma Hongjun's attacks, his martial prowess on full display.
With a swift strike, Tang San launched himself at Ma Hongjun, his fists a blur as he unleashed a flurry of blows aimed at his opponent's fiery form. Tang San couldn't help but be shocked by the intensity of Ma Hongjun's flames. If he had not coated his fists with soul power and employed the Mysterious Jade Hand technique, his hands would have already been burned to crisp.
In the heart of the fierce battle, with flames licking the air and the earth trembling beneath their feet, Tang San and Ma Hongjun engaged in a relentless exhange of hand-to-hand combat. Their movements were a mesmerizing dance of skill, each strike calculated and precise as they sought to gain the upper hand.
With every punch and kick, they pushed themselves to their limits, their bodies moving with an effortless grace born of years of training and discipline. Tang San's Blue Silver Grass may have faltered, but his mastery of martial arts remained steadfast, his every movement a testament to his skill.
As their fists collided in a flurry of blows, a wave of energy surged between them, the sheer intensity of their clash sending shockwaves rippling through the air. Locked in a fierce struggle, they pushed against each other with all their might.
For a fleeting moment, the two of them stood locked in a stalemate, their strength matched evenly.
Then, with a sudden burst of energy, they broke apart, each one propelled backward by the force of their clash. Gasping for breath, they regarded each other with surprise. Tang San never thought he would meet someone as skilled as him in martial arts, while Ma Hongjun was thinking the same thing. Even though his good brother's words implied he wasn't exactly a genius in martial arts, he could be regarded as talented. Sheng Jun even said that unless he met a monster, there should be no one who would be his opponent among his peers.
As the two of them prepared for another round, a voice cut through the air. "All right, that's enough. Tang San, take a break before fighting with Sheng Jun" Xiaogang said calmly. Tang San and Ma Hongjun nodded reluctantly as they walked out of the field.
I apologize for the late chapter yet again, I had to attend an event. I'll write two chapters tomorrow as a compensation.
