The dinner was pleasant to say the least, but that could not be said about the falling night.
Ren stood in the living room, his eyes fixed on the only bedroom, surveying the state of decay around him.
He had commanded the vines to retreat, leaving behind some to keep supporting the now fragile structure of the room.
Even with his efforts, parts of the wall were sagged now, including a section dangerously hovering over the bed. Ren's lips twitched with a hint of frustration.
He was about to comment on the condition of the room when Kade's voice broke the silence.
"Why don't you stay here with me?"
Ren raised an eyebrow. "And where exactly are you planning to let me stay?"
As if to punctuate his point, half of the wardrobe gave way with a loud crash, its contents spilling onto the floor.
The crash instantly reminded Kade about the biggest problem. They had nowhere to sleep!
