Royale Academy,

Very prestigious but…

'Long ass fucking hall ways…'

I had finally made it to the location of the tennis club. Unlike regular schools apparently at this one, students are required to meet at the clubs that they chose when they first applied here.

The Academy is more focused on kids' futures than regular schools do. Even though it was previously well known for tennis, the coaches and teachers here are very strict and firm.

The academy is split into three systems.

Sports related- which is anyone wanting to join clubs that deal with any sport whether it's outdoor or indoor.

IT- dealing with computers, technology, laws and policies.

Others- This one is the one Amanda would be in. It includes acting, directing, cooking etc.

This way, students who know exactly what they want, will be able to come here without having to go through regular classes or useless work.

'It's very brutal but I guess it's a way to get kids to think for themselves.' I sighed as I made my way towards the tennis fields.

Even though they have a lot to offer, not many are able to get in since…

-it's pricey as hell, especially since the academy pays for everything, including dorms for those who don't have anywhere else to stay.

-they don't give many scholarships out

And lastly…

-the ranking system forces those to quit after not making it or being here for too long since they can't get any internships or work forcing them to drop out.

See, there is a ranking system in every club and sport here. Depending on which sport/club you are in, you're required to get a certain grade or else you will be dropped from the club. But, even though you're dropped doesn't mean you have to leave the academy.

There are tournaments held every first two months of every semester for those who were dropped. This way they can either redeem themselves or…since the tournaments are live,  they can get transferred or offered jobs if anyone watching them is interested.

'fuck me…' I sighed as I looked around. Four tennis courts surround one main tennis court.

(A/N- think of an X. The tennis courts are on the marks at each end of the X and then there's one right at the center of all four.)

As I was examining the courts I felt a tap on my shoulder causing me to turn around. Standing in front of me was a man. A black-haired man, who looked around 6 foot wearing a baseball cap, and some sweats with the academy name on them.

"Um.. Hello.." I spoke up while putting my hand out. "Erin Ryans.. um.. I'm new here and I was told we were supp-"

"I know who you are.." he interrupted me while taking my hand and shaking it while looking in my eyes to which looked back slightly confused.

He pulled his hand away and I started opening my mouth to ask how he knew me before he interrupted me.

"Sean Ryans kid.." he began still maintaining eye contact. "You think you would be unrecognizable after being introduced as his son after he suddenly came back into the public's eye after many years since he retired?" he smiled right after that.

'Sheesh… blink why Dontcha.'

"I didn't think It would be such a big deal." after saying that I looked down as the eye contact started making me uncomfortable.

Sensing my discomfort he finally looked away. " well, since he came back bringing you, the entire tennis world wants a piece of you" he looked back at me scanning me from head to toe.

"You have a target on your back Ryans..some tennis enthusiasts think you're nothing but a scam.. that you're using Sean's name to gain attention.." I looked right back up in his eyes as soon as he said that annoyed. Yet he looked amused at the reaction.

"Who are you even… why are you saying that to me.." I responded while gripping the duffel bag that was over my shoulder.

"Couch Reynolds.. boys tennis couch" He started walking away after that and I started following him.

"You're the last one.. the rest are already here.." we walk over towards what looked like a team meeting room. He opened the door letting me go in first but as I walked past him he spoke again.

"Like I said already, you already have a target on your back because of who your dad is… don't say anything absurd unless you can back it up.." he warned me as we both entered the room.

As I walked in there were already quite a few people inside. They all turned to look at me and I could tell some of their emotions off of their eyes…
