"I, honest to God, am going to pummel that husband of yours to death," Danny said as he bit the straw and placed down the cup of boba tea on the pink plastic table. They were sitting in a small café.
Though Ari told Danny that she could still afford one of those high-end cafés that he liked so much, he refused by informing her that this café was better than those high-end ones.
As they were too chic and classy making it possible for anyone to hear them compared to those cafes, this one was too noisy, and thus they did not have to worry about anyone eavesdropping on them.
At first, she thought Danny was thinking too much, but now that she was trying to ignore the screams and high-pitched giggles of the high school girls, she had to admit that he was right. In this noise even if Ari were to scream that she wanted to divorce Noah Nelson, no one would care.
"You are not the only one," Ari sighed as she sipped on her boba tea, she looked around the café and felt an itch in her fingers. When she was still studying in college, she would often come to cafés like these, though they were small, they had just desserts and drinks that she liked, but once Ari married Noah, it all stopped.
Since the Nelsons were aristocrats, her mother-in-law would severely reprimand her if Ari was caught lingering near such cafés or restaurants. For Noah, Ari had changed her entire life, and yet, she remained an evil woman in his eyes.
Ari shook her head and then turned to look at Danny before asking, "Can I divorce Noah?"
Danny wiped the drop of milk that fell on his flower-printed shirt, which seemed too big on him. Apparently, it belonged to his boyfriend, and because he did not do his laundry, he had to borrow his boyfriend's clothes, however, Ari was sure that Danny just wanted to brag about his boyfriend.
Not aware of her thoughts, Danny threw the tissue in the trash. He then picked up the leather bag that he brought with him and placed it on the table.
From the inside of the bag, he took out two sets of divorce papers before pushing them in front of Ari.
"I got them done last night after you called," what Danny did not tell Ari was that he had been itching to write these divorce agreements ever since he saw Noah treat Ari badly.
The content of these agreements was practically imprinted in his head and last night after he finished typing them, Danny felt a weight lift from his shoulders.
It was something that he wanted to do very, very much but curse his stupid friend for not being able to see what was good for her and kept clinging to that scumbag.
"These are two sets of agreements. One of them mentions alimony, as your husband cheated on you, you can drag him to the court and sue him with this one. However, I doubt that Noah will let it slide so easily," Danny explained the content of the agreements to Ari. He then tapped on the other contract and said, "This one, however, does not mention any alimony or any other messy content. If Noah signs this one, then you will be free at once as long as this agreement is notarized by the civil service department."
He paused and added, "Personally, I think the second agreement is better. The Nelsons are pretty strong at the moment apart from the De Luca family, no one can go against them."
"I don't want you to get entangled in messy entanglements with the Nelsons. Your mother-in-law is such a hag that she gives me the creep, yuck," Danny remarked with a shudder.
"Then why did you write this agreement?" Ari asked as she looked at the first divorce agreement.
Danny shrugged and then sipped on his tea. Only then did he reply, "I don't know girl, you could have been in your revenge era wanting to drag your selfish sister and cheating husband. I just wanted to be ready for every situation."
Ari sighed. In fact, she would have loved to drag Noah and Ariel, but she needed to be realistic. If she were to drag Noah, she would be making an enemy out of Nelson, and she was not that idiotic. Okay, she was an idiot but even her idiocy had some limits, Ari was not going to challenge Nelson when she had no backing.
As for her sister, even though this would be a wonderful story to be displayed on social media, Ari knew that if she pushed Ariel's scandal on social media, then she would make a fuss with their parents who would then make a fuss with her.
If Ari wanted to keep her peace, something that she needed very much, she had to keep this scandal to herself. Something Ariel knew, if not, she wouldn't have dared to kiss Noah.
Ari hated how her hands were tied everywhere, but something was better than nothing, right? Even if she couldn't teach those two heartless bastards a lesson, she would be getting her freedom, right?
She placed the agreement down and said to Danny, "I will be taking the second one with me. I want to get this done as soon as possible." She was thankful that she had a lawyer friend, if not Ari would have run around the law firms to get these agreements.
What was more, Danny gave her the correct advice.
"Are you going to find your husband?" Danny asked with a raise of his brow.
Ari nodded. "The sooner, the better," Ari stated with a cold expression. Three years of disregard and disrespect was enough for her to wake up. Now all she wanted was to live her life for herself instead of devoting it to someone else.
Danny first bumped with her as he cheered her up, "Go get him, girl."
When Ari heard his cheering, she smiled and pumped her fist before picking up the divorce agreement.
