-Chapter 99-
-POV Viserys Targaryen-
I smiled as I beheaded another Ironborn who charged at me recklessly, and then I shouted:
"DO NOT FEAR THESE DAMN SQUIDS, KILL THEM ALL"
"Watch out, Prince," yelled one of my men, forcing me to turn around and raise my sword just in time to block the blow from an Ironborn wielding a sword that was red not from blood but simply from the hue of the blade.
'Red Rain,' I thought to myself as I saw the men of House Drumm flocking towards me, led by the man in front of me.
I kicked the Ironborn noble of House Drumm in the groin and then pushed with all my might to break his balance. He stumbled backward, and I tried to slice off his leg with a sharp blow.
He managed to retreat just in time and then took a defensive stance while signaling his men to surround me. I looked around and realized that to get out of this, I would need to kill him before they managed to completely isolate me.
I attacked, aiming for his throat with Loyal. He blocked my blow with Red Rain and then quickly pivoted and pushed to make me lose my balance. I pretended to be pushed back before quickly shifting my weight to the side.
He fell for the trap, and I took the chance to slash his back. Unfortunately, he quickly turned around, and I realized that I had been the one trapped. He kicked my knee, making me involuntarily kneel, and before I could even understand what was happening, I saw Red Rain being raised in the air before coming down straight at me.
Everything slowed down around me, and just when I thought it was all going to end for me, an arrow pierced the Ironborn's eye.
I looked in the direction the arrow came from and saw Aegon atop Ghost, his giant wolf, which had now stopped growing since reaching 4 meters tall and 5 meters long, with a bow in hand.
I quickly got up, hearing a man's scream, and saw a giant charging at me. He was of colossal size, lifted his axe very high before bringing it down straight at me. I rolled away, and then an arrow pierced his shoulder blade. He dropped his axe and picked up a shield lying on a corpse of one of our soldiers to stop a second arrow that was meant to pierce.
He drew the sword at his waist and then ran towards me to decapitate me. I blocked the blow with Loyal, and his sword broke under the force he put into the blow and the edge of my Valyrian steel sword. He looked surprised, and before he could react, an arrow pierced his leg.
He kneeled with a grimace, giving me the chance to draw one of the daggers at my waist and plunge it into the chest of the giant in front of me. He tried to stand up forcefully despite his injuries, but I lifted my sword before bringing it down on his neck, decapitating him with a clean cut.
His head rolled, and then I saw that the Ironborn around me were all looking at me with a certain fear. I kicked the giant's head and then stepped over the body of the noble from House Drumm, smiling disdainfully at these vulgar pirates.
I calmly advanced while watching the soldiers retreat and then charged into them. I sliced the throat of an Ironborn pirate and then another's. One of them tried to attack me from behind but fell stiff when an arrow pierced his neck from the back.
I raised my sword and shouted follow me and kill all these Ironborn carrion.
"FOLLOW PRINCE VISERYS," yelled an officer who took advantage of the general confusion among the Ironborn to pierce the skull of an Ironborn with his spear.
I smiled and continued my advance into the Ironborn camp, becoming more and more daring like a demon. The more I advanced, the more they feared, I could almost physically feel it. These traitors knew they had awakened the dragon, and unluckily for them, another dragon was watching over me.
'They can do nothing against me as long as Aegon watches over me,' I thought, feeling an omnipotence like never before.
