Chapter 315: A Famous Doctor Can't Heal Himself

The issue with Spider-Boy temporarily resolved, Clark once again summoned the Avengers to assemble, and this time, no accidents occurred.

It was time to upgrade the Avengers' equipment, especially since Captain America's shield had been damaged for some time and needed serious repair.

After carefully selecting, Clark took Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Daisy, and Ava on a spaceship to leave Earth and head for the dwarven realm of Nidavellir.

This group shared common traits: stronger abilities and relatively free movement. Leaving Earth for a while wouldn't cause any problems. They could also handle emergencies more easily while away.

Remaining on Earth were Luke Cage and his wife, who had no special equipment needs, Ant-Man and Wasp, whose gear could only be provided by Hank Pym, and others who needed to stay to look after things. For example, if Daredevil left Earth for too long, his absence would definitely cause problems for the Hand.

Their task was simply to look after the place.

Before departing, Clark called over Mindy, gently stroked her head, and smilingly said, "It might take us a while to return, and we probably won't make it back for your birthday this year. Tell me what gift you'd like now, and I'll decide whether to get it to you in advance or make up for it later."

Raising an eyebrow, Mindy slyly remarked as she glanced at the hand Clark had on her head, "Should I take this gesture as you teasing a young girl?"

Clark quickly withdrew his hand.

Since the little girl had traveled through the quantum realm with him, it had been seven years, excluding the years preserved in the quantum realm. She was now a nineteen-year-old young woman.

Clark felt that he indeed needed to be more careful about physical contact with her.

Seeing Clark's reaction, Mindy chuckled proudly and then made her birthday gift request. "I'd like a spear, one that is durable, sharp, and powerful. Since you're heading to Nidavellir, I assume my request isn't too much?"

Mindy had long wanted a quality spear.

She had always used an energy gun, which was decent, but as the Avengers' strengths continued to grow, her energy gun was gradually losing its advantage. Weapons like Captain America's octagonal mace, Hawkeye's Nightblade, and Yi Long's Ruyi Jingu Bang were all formidable weapons, not something an energy gun could match.

Hearing that Mindy wanted a quality spear, Clark confidently smiled and said, "Speaking of good spears, I do have one that definitely meets your requirements for being durable, sharp, and powerful."

As he spoke, he took a golden spear endowed with immense divine power from his personal space. Caressing the spear, he said, "With my current strength, even in battle, I rarely need to use weapons. The Miracle Cure has been with me for many years and understands my intentions well. It's unlikely to have a chance to show itself in front of others."

"Rather than let this treasure collect dust, I've decided to give it to Mindy. You are skilled with spears, and I believe it will shine in your hands as it did in the past."

Clark finished speaking, and the golden spear let out a loud clear ring, levitating and dancing around him as if reluctant yet excited.

Mindy's eyes lit up, recognizing from Clark's interaction with the spear that it was a sentient divine weapon, perhaps a relic on par with Thor's hammer!

Clark then handed the spear back to Mindy, saying, "This is the Eternal Spear, once wielded by Odin, the former king of Asgard, and even more powerful than Thor's hammer. I now give it to you; cherish it well. If you can establish a rapport with the Eternal Spear, you will be able to unleash unimaginable power."

Mindy received +999 impression points from this gift—the Eternal Spear!

Who would have thought that the first gift Clark would give was a legendary artifact, previously used by Odin himself, whose power was immense!

Clark is so good to me, how can I ever repay him?

As Mindy blushed with excitement, Clark whispered in her ear the method to summon the eight-legged steed, then waved goodbye to the others and boarded the spaceship bound for Nidavellir.

Choosing not to teleport but to travel by spaceship was actually Clark's way of buying time.

Dr. Stephen Strange and Clark had a bit of a friendship, and it would look bad to refuse him face to face. Better to just hide away for a while, let him find no one, and return when everything has settled.

As expected by Clark.

Dr. Stephen Strange, distracted by using his phone while driving on Autumn Mountain, ended up in a car accident, ruining his hands which had been at their peak. To save his hands and his once-glorious career, he sought help everywhere. There was only one Stephen Strange who could truly heal his hands, but unfortunately, a doctor can't heal himself.

The other incompetent doctors only brought him disappointment after disappointment until he despaired.

With his hands beyond the help of Earth's medical capabilities, Stephen remembered Clark, who now had access to many alien technologies. What was impossible for humans might be nothing for aliens.

However, when he arrived at the Avengers' base full of hope, the answer he got was that Clark had already left Earth, taking many main Avengers with him, with no one knowing their mission. They would not return for a long time.

The remaining core members at the base, mostly fighters like the Cages, knew nothing of medicine. Hank Pym, the old fox, had long vanished to who knows where, leaving Stephen with no options.

Fortunately, from Mindy, he learned of the Ancient One at Kamar-Taj, a master of great magical powers who could revive the dead.

With a last shred of hope, Dr. Stephen Strange spent his remaining funds on a ticket to Kamar-Taj…

Without Clark's intervention, Doctor Strange's story returned to its original course, and he began learning magic at the Sanctum Sanctorum.

This story teaches us a simple lesson: don't play with your phone while driving!

As for Clark and the Avengers, their spaceship had landed at the Nidavellir spaceport.

To Clark's surprise, when they disembarked from the spaceship, the expected welcoming ceremony did not occur, and the faces of the dwarves lacked their usual bright smiles. Nidavellir was shrouded in an invisible gloom.

What on Earth was happening?

Just as Clark was puzzled, a familiar-looking dwarf quickly approached, as if clutching at a lifeline, and urgently said, "Prince Clark, you have finally appeared!"

Upon closer inspection, Clark recognized him as one of the few dwarves he knew well in Nidavellir, other than King Eitri. He promptly asked, "Kranci, what has happened to Nidavellir?"

"It's Thanos!" the dwarf named Kranci said with a face full of fear. "Somehow, they learned of Nidavellir's location and sent an envoy yesterday demanding that King Eitri create a gauntlet capable of holding six Infinity Stones. They gave us only one day to decide. If we can't give them a satisfactory answer by noon today, they will launch an attack on

Nidavellir and completely annihilate our people!"

"Prince Clark, according to the alliance, we are responsible for providing weapons to Asgard, and in return, Asgard is obligated to protect us."

Clark nodded in acknowledgment. What Kranci said was true; Asgard and Nidavellir indeed had a strategic alliance treaty. Nidavellir was responsible for forging weapons for Asgard, while Asgard was supposed to provide military protection for Nidavellir.

However, after the battle with the Dark Elves, the Bifrost was destroyed, and Heimdall was busy directing its reconstruction, likely neglecting his surveillance of the Nine Realms.

Even if he noticed the situation, it would be useless without the Bifrost. It would be impossible for Asgard's army to come to their aid in time.

It was fortunate that Clark arrived when he did; otherwise, this cosmic armory might have been destroyed by Thanos as in the movies.

Looking at the time, there was only an hour left until the noon deadline. Clark continued, "Where is Eitri now?"

Kranci quickly responded, "In his palace, negotiating with Thanos's envoy."

Nodding, Clark immediately led the Avengers to King Eitri's palace. They were still outside the main entrance when they heard a very arrogant voice inside saying, "Your Majesty, the king of dwarves, my master's patience is very limited. He wants an answer by noon today, and he must hear your reply before the deadline. If you think you can use this to buy time, you will regret it."

Hearing this sharp and scathing voice, all the Avengers showed displeasure on their faces, and Clark, without any hesitation, pushed open the door, disdainfully saying, "Who let this spineless cur into Nidavellir to bark so wildly?"

As he spoke, his gaze swept over the hall, quickly spotting a tall, thin individual staring bewilderedly at him. Upon closer inspection, it was an old acquaintance.
