Alexander laughed as I recounted what had happened.
"This isn't a laughing matter," I grumbled. "Just get your ass up here. I need to talk to them and explain the situation."
"Alright, mi amor, I'll see you soon," he said in a soft tone, one that made me think he really loved me and that this wasn't an act.
"Whatever," I said, rolling my eyes and ending the call.
By the time I returned to my desk, my bodyguards were scattered around the floor, keeping watch.
The area was empty and I guess they went to Lex's office for some privacy and to lessen the risk of someone walking into the conversation.
"That was sloppy," I hissed as I marched into Lex's office, slamming the door behind me.
I didn't bother to act like I was Lily, an employee of Durfort Inc., the cat was out of the bag anyway.
"It's not like we expected them to come back," Lex grumbled as he leaned back against his table.
