He settled into the cab and rested his back, making himself comfortable as he began thinking about the beautiful Angel he met at the supermarket just now.
Everything about her was perfect, and he was glad he made the choice of walking up to her.
He was definitely going to church on Sunday.
At that moment, his phone rang in his pocket breaking his chain of thoughts.
He brought the phone out of his pocket and checked the caller's name, it was his sister.
“Hello little sister." Abe said, bringing the phone closer to his ears.
“Hel.. what did you say?" His sister's voice came from the other end
" Nothing, might be the network.” Abe replied
" I see you've grown wings, it's been a while since you had a good conversation with my fist.” Tasha said
" Oh come on, you're lucky I didn't report you for child abuse. My back still hurts from all those pains.” Abe cried
Both siblings laughed.
“I miss you." Tasha said
“I miss you too sister, but I don't miss your fist."
They both laughed again.
“Are you at work?" Abe asked
“ No I'm not, my shift has been scheduled for tonight."
“I've been cleaning your room all day, you left it a mess." His sister said
“You know you don't have to, I'm never coming back to live there." Abe said
" You're never going to let it go? To forgive him?”
There was no reply, Abe would always avoid this question anytime his sister asked him
" You do know I love you right.” Tasha sighed. "More than anything in this world, I do. And I'm sure you will come back for me someday.”
" What do you mean? Tasha, what happened to leaving the house?” Abe asked with a frown, even though she couldn't see his facial expression.
" There would be no one to take care of him.” she replied
" Nobody cares. You shouldn't care, I mean…”
" Abe, I called to check on you, not to argue. Goodbye.”
" Wait, Tasha I was just..”
Abe sighed as he stared at his phone's screen, she hung up the call.
15 minutes later, he arrived at the front of the house. He paid the driver and pulled the shopping bags into the house.
He dropped the bags at the living room and went to his room to change to a more comfortable outfit before getting to work.
Firstly he dusted the house, cleaning the arts and painting, also mopping the floor.
Then he arranged all the items he got to their places.
After he was done, he went to the kitchen to prepare a proper lunch for himself.
He washed the plates including the pots he used and went back to his room to change his clothes again, but this time to a sports wear.
He was going to try the gym out.
Abe was naturally built, he wasn't really a gym freak but he was a man who loved to keep in shape. And besides, he's been itching to try the gym out.
After three hours of intense non-stop workout, Abe dragged his sweat soaked body to his room.
He took a shower and fell asleep a few minutes after.
2 hour later, Abe was back in the kitchen to prepare dinner, it was already getting dark and he was sure his uncle would be arriving soon.
He had called his uncle earlier not to get a take out from the restaurants.
He hummed a song as he prepared the food, and pretty soon the food was ready.
He heard the doorknob twist open as his uncle stepped into the house.
Abe must have been really carried away not to have heard his Uncle’s car pull up in the garage.
“Welcome home uncle." Abe greeted from the kitchen
" I smell something good.” John said as he shut the door behind him.
“ It will be served in a minute." Abe said as he set the table
“ Good, I'll go take a shower then."
Abe set the table and waited patiently for his uncle to come back.
Soon his uncle came back with wet hair and a change of clothes.
“You should be thankful that I'm not that hungry." Abe said as he began serving the food
" Uhn, this is good." His uncle praised as he took a bite
“Try not to bite your tongue." Abe joked before he also started eating
Both of them ate in silence like they always do, they both focused on eating.
“This is a really good nephew, how'd you get so good at cooking?" His uncle said as he pushed his empty plate aside
“I just did." Abe replied as he began packing the plates
“Oh uhm here's your card."
“Thanks, I'll be heading off to my room now, I have some paperwork to work on." John said as he stood up heading to his room
“Oh good night uncle."
“ Good night nephew." His uncle replied
“ One more thing," John paused, he pointed at the calendar on the wall, the 25th of the following month was marked,
“That's my birthday."
