"I'm relieved Father sent Grandma to Elmswood. I didn't want her to leave, but what she did was unforgivable," Alora expressed, urging them to enjoy the tea and snacks.
Her gaze repeatedly flitted toward the door, anticipating Magnus's return with Venus. When he finally appeared, Alora was surprised to find Venus was not with him.
"She will be here after changing her outfit," Magnus informed them and took a seat. He found Alora had sat by her mother's side. He let her stay seated there when Venus finally entered the drawing room with a servant.
Rhea and Norman left their seats to see Venus. She snuggled to both her parents and she cried her eyes out. Rhea tried to console her, but Venus was unable to stop her tears.
Alora's eyes were also covered in tears and she wiped the corners of her eyes. She glanced at Magnus, who shook his head at her. She interpreted his gesture– not wanting her to cry.
