Turns Blind

After two days of welcoming not a single light ray into them, Max's unmoving eyelids slowly slides upwards as his dormant consciousness slowly started recovering. He first noticed Void Emotion was not there on his face, and the roughness of the hard floor beneath his smooth cheek. Then, he noticed how silent and friendly calm was his surroundings.

He blinked his eyes severally in order to adjust to the moderate light litting up the quiet place.

Without saying a word, and having his thoughts being blank like a new book, Max sat up in total alertness. His quiet brain was very used to continuous pain sensation all over his body before he passed out, so it found it strange to currently feel otherwise. It somehow felt abnormal and too easy for its liking.

From his slowly clearing blurry vision, he seemed to be sitting under a single lamp light of an empty glass room. Then he looked behind him to find a brown set of randomly protruding rocks one carefully kept on the other. Barely standing on his feet, his head touched the roof of the room because of how small the place was.

His face appeared confused.

After some while of standing still, he turned around and slowly walked closer to the major glass wall of the room.

Right now, his face appeared more confused.

Max was in a small room inside a small cave-like place. The green plants running up the rocky surface out there could be sufficient to tell him this was a natural cave. But seeing a small water basin situated to his right, he didn't even think about that fact. Even if it was a cave, then its natural features were tainted by the power of artificiality.

Brushing his disheveled dirty brown hair backwards with his right palm, the young millionaire was going to place the left one on the clean hard glass but then, he felt it was better to be cautious with being so touchy.

He still refused to utter a word.

It took some deserving time for his brain to start thinking words: 'How come I'm in a... cave house? What about Robert and his mad dogs... and Armless. Oh God, and oh God, the Blood Fiend stuff. What was that?' Max slowly released a sigh of confusion through his parted dried lips.

Looking over his own body to see anything like red glowing blood vessels, he felt disappointed — that was a strange feeling. Nothing like glowing vessels on the average muscles of his smooth chest that displayed how fitted his manly physique was.

He tried to access his Vampire System but nothing happened.

The next thing he did was doubting before finally activating Spider Vision.

'And it is working!'

His seeing turned to be black and white and indeed, he could now see every aspect of the lit small cave. Truthful to his earlier assumption, this place was originally a natural cave but was turned into a tropical bathroom filled with jungle-like plants that span the walls.

Particularly, his small section was a luxurious shower curtain half made of glass walls.

Increasing his vision scope, Max could now see every aspect of this place and its outside which happened to be a cave house. His blood boiled on seeing the bald Blue Force by the name Robert sitting in a beautiful corridor on a luxury couch, some few Blue Forces standing about like guards. The bald Blue Force was in deep thoughts, staring at a rocky wall.

On another aspect of the vision, Max felt relieved when he found a beautiful Armless sleeping. As she lied down, her slim legs were cuffed to the railings of a helix staircase that resembled an ascending DNA molecule. Looking closer to her body, his protective side made sure she wasn't physically hurt by the Blue Forces, so he next shifted to another aspect of his vision.

That was when Max realized where he was: inside one of the two mighty mountains that were kissing the sunless sky of Royalty Pack. From his point of view, the cave house was somewhere within but around the borders of the mountain's mid section, the Left Shoulder's mountain, precisely. The settlement of both the civilians on the Left Shoulder, two of the Royal Castles situated on River of Origin, Land of Traders, the few houses on the Right Shoulder were all sitting before his distant view.

'I am not dreaming. I haven't returned to Anyway city. Still.'

Spider Vision was such a handy Gift, but its disadvantage was similarly negatively intense than its importance. Max had disregarded every Penelope's warning regarding how he should use it, so as he was still consumed in looking outside the mountain, suddenly, he turned blind.

Max blinked again with overweening panic to make sure being blind, again after a long time, was not the current case. To the yawn of pure reality, he was indeed blinded by Spider Vision at the wrong time. It had been so long that he last experienced this frightening pitch darkness.

And it was such a terrible experience.

It was, always.

Slowly moving backwards, meeting the artificially arranged big rocks behind him, the rhythm of his two hearts changed their frequencies to the panic wavelength as he started rubbing his eyes. To his sudden notice, he was now having two hearts beating in his chest. It wasn't like that before, before the night he clashed with Robert.

'No, damn no! No no no...'

Without even noticing someone had entered his little new room due to panic, Max only felt a very strong paw smacking the bare of his neck.

And he fell to the ground;

And his blinded eyes closed shut;

And his thoughts turned silent.

Returning back to consciousness for the second time today, instead of a friendly silence, what welcomed Max was an excessively hot temperature that engulfed his whole body. He wasn't submerged in hot water or maybe a flowing volcano, but instead, simply, the air around him was charged by a certain Gifted.

Then his eyes opened;

Then, some welcoming words of the annoying bald Blue Force brought the heated air around his ears into sudden motion: "Who is Lucas, little shit?" Max, squatted, looked up at Robert who had his back facing the red glowing hot rock heated by one of the Blue Forces.

It was time for the two of them to have some proper man to man conversation.
