Fighting a Giant (1)

"Alright, it's time." William took a deep breath and clicked on the Sacrificial Tomb's page.

It was the second option and soon, the same thing happened as before, only this time, William had not stopped looking at the ground beneath him.

Within seconds of clicking, a runic circle formed beneath his feet, the script or symbol written on it was unknown to William.

The circle just stayed there for a second until William saw small sprouts of green plants coming out of the circle.

The plants formed into shoots within a matter of seconds which now that William looked at with full focus were very astonishing.

If something like this happened back on Earth, it would have broken the world. The ability for a plant to grow instantly which would normally take weeks if not years would have given Earth a chance to become stable again.

After becoming big enough, these vines traveled fast and grabbed William's hands, making him freak out even when he was ready this time.

One by one, vines grew and latched on William's hands and he only waited, there was a pressure of the vines squeezing his hands yet William only persisted.

'Before, I forcibly broke the vines but not this time.'

2 minutes passed and it made William wonder that he might have been half of the power he could while fighting the hound that time.

Like always, the Sacrificial Tomb had fallen on the ground, its cover mysteriously closed every time it fell.

After another minute, it finally stopped. The runic circle first became dim and then fully disappeared making the sprouts that were growing dwindle and vanish into nothingness.

A lot of vines had completely covered his hand this time and William waited for the main weapon to appear.

He saw something small sprouting out of the vines, these 'small something' became spikes the size of a few inches.

After another minute, it seemed like the process was finally completed.

William moved his hand around and flexibly rotated his wrist and his fingers as if nothing was on them in the first place.

Yet there was still this heavy feeling.

'There are double the vines than before, the spikes too.' He thought and tried to scratch his cheek yet stopped the spike that was going to stab him soon.

A 'TING' sound came from the object on his wrist and William got ready.

He looked in the front while the Defense bot was ready to fight from any direction.

A silhouette came out of the fog and William felt like it was another Gremlick yet after the silhouette was visible clearly, William frowned.

The height of the shadow coming out seemed double the size of a Gremlick,

'The fuck is that?'

When he thought that, the hologram appeared and William read it through in seconds.

====

Gremlack

Level 8

And evolved Gremlick, a menace to any civilization. Beware of its strength.

====

he creature towered over seven feet tall, with a muscular build and veins bulging across its body. It held a crude wooden club and wore a single tattered cloth around its waist.

Its skin was the same color as the Gremlick yet if William needed to compare this one with those small and frail creatures, there was nothing he could find.

All because the Gremlack in front of him had muscles all over its body. There were veins visible all around its body as if they had come after getting some injections.

It had sharp-looking long nails.

With a single cloth on its nether area, the Gremlack was testing the strength of that tattered cloth it was wearing.

Yet for some reason, William was not scared of it. In actuality, he was a little angry.

All due to the way the Gremlack was looking at him. It had arrogance in its eyes, not what William preferred in his opponents.

Yes, they needed to have a will to fight yet William loathed arrogance, something inside him always had a craving to break that arrogance into pieces.

The same had happened here.

William's gaze fell on the big wooden club in the hand of the Gremlack, it was holding a wooden-looking crude club in its right hand.

"Defense Bot, attack the Gremlack." William took his stance and stared at the Gremlack from top to bottom.

Its body was bigger and broader than his, yet the creature was very lax and had no defense.

Although he did not want to, William had some respect for that. Its body was so big and muscular that William thought it would be hard to get it hurt even after jabbing with his full strength.

Yet he had something that the Gremlack didn't and it was the almighty spikes!

The Gremlack took a step forward and that was when William dashed toward it too.

PEW

An arrow came out of the defense bot and hit the Gremlack right at the gut. It looked down toward the arrow that had embedded inside it. A vein seemed to pop in its forehead as it took the small arrow out with the left hand and threw at the ground.

RRRRAAAAAARRGHHHHH!!

A big scream came out of its mouth as it got ready to attack the upcoming human.

William quickly closed the gap after calculating some stuff.

He had made a lot of assumptions regarding the fighting style of the Gremlack and it could only be possible to confirm after he had a few clashes with it.

The Gremlack just snorted form its big nose, some snort came out disgusting William. It moved its club toward the running William in order to smack him to death.

'I knew it'

The creature was very slow, at least for William. Before the swing could come toward him, William got out of the slow trajectory.

The Gremack retracted the weapon and moved the club back up.

The club travelled fast toward William yet he dodged again, a small grin on his face.

BANG!

The club hit the ground cracking it in the process.

The Gremlack was furious while looking at William's expression.

But before it could retract the club from the ground, William punched the big hand that was holding the club with all his might. The spikes that were on the veins around his arms got stuck in its hand.

"RHHHHHAAAAAAA!!!!"

The grip of the Gremlack over the club was lost, it left the club and moved the hand back.

The upper part of its hand had multiple spikes embedded in it and it was not the end, the spikes seemed to be embedded very deep.

They were a few inches in length and many of the spikes could not even be seen properly entailing that they had dug too deep inside the hand.

While the Gremlack was whimpering as if it had never felt any fear, William went for the big club.
