Chapter 23 - A Shocking Discovery

The man left after boarding his ship and the numerous black holes started revolving again with their destructive auras enveloping the whole planet.

Back at the mansion's ruins, an excited voice was heard.

"D-Dear… did y-you hear?! Our little one… he is still alive!"

Excitement, fear, anxiousness and… forgiveness. All of them were mixed in this male voice from earlier that could easily shred a human body to pieces but couldn't scratch the robed man.

*Sob* *Whimper* *Sob*

Another voice was heard in the ruins, but a sad woman who could not express anything other than her regretful crying said while whimpering with her soft voice.

"I'm sorry baby… It's all my fault! If it weren't for me being weak -"

"It was never your fault, dear!" The male voice interrupted with an assuring tone and he continued. "Its just that our enemy was too strong!" 

An oppressive aura spread out from the male statue that shot passed through the already destroyed planet, and reached towards one of the black holes, making it halt for a moment, but it started moving again, regaining its pace quickly.

The mansion's ruins became dead silent.

An hour earlier before the incident of dead planet.

Leo sat in a meditating posture and went straight to his soul's area, where the system was situated. But to his surprise, the system, which always looked like a small mass of floating blue light, had several cracks appeared on it.

These cracks were increasing at an astonishing rate, and they soon had covered the whole blue light.

An explosion occurred in Leo's soul because of the system's blue light destruction.

The shattered pieces of blue light had pierced his soul, causing him to feel unbearable pain. These little pieces of what was left of the system had started submerging in his soul that caused the pain to vanish almost immediately.

As if the pain of feeling am explosion in his soul was not enough, another ridiculous event originated.

A series of symbols that Leo was too familiar with emerged out of nowhere as they started appearing in masses and immediately surrounded his soul.

They revolved around the soul and started to approach slowly to be submerged in it, just like the system.

Leo had suffered immense pain and been tormented enough by these symbols physically. If he had the chance, then he would definitely wish for him to never experience the same pain again in his life. 

He gulped down his imaginary saliva in the soul state, looking at the symbols approaching his golden flame like soul. 

A few breaths had passed, and the symbols were only a millimeter away from touching Leo's soul. Before the symbols could reach the soul, another strange phenomenon occurred.

Countless white roots elongated from the very surface of the soul that wrapped these symbols.

The symbols struggled to lose free from the grasp of these roots, but the roots were too sturdy. It didn't take long before the symbols had been wrapped around by the roots, therefore resulting in a spectacle where white symbols that had the texture of roots were surrounding Leo's soul.

The new symbols looked more profound and magnificent, as if the roots had raised their very existence. These symbols were immediately dragged into the golden soul fire that burned vigorously.

Leo didn't know how to express himself.

System's destruction, White roots and those dangerous symbols ?!

What the fuck's going on?!

The system is now… destroyed?

What were those creepy roots?!

And those symbols too?!

Before he could continue bickering, he felt something.

Leo's soul had begun to shrink at an astonishing rate, where it had transformed into the same shape as system from earlier. It didn't stop there, and began to change its golden color to absolute white that could blind anyone.

The small white light now began to grow numerous roots that elongated to huge lengths forming a humanoid like body where the white light atop bloomed into a huge lotus.

The roots soon began to shine with glamour, spreading their mysterious aura in Leo's physical body for some reason, even though the fact that it had appeared in his soul region.

A series of knowledge appeared in his head that made him smile with a wide grin on his soul form. 

Leo opened his eyes and immediately spoke with his ecstatic voice.

"System!"

In the sky above Leo's abode.

A multitude of stars had gathered, and they comprised a lotus constellation and started disappearing quickly.

In a void.

A huge ship, to be exact, the same ship that would soon make a visit to the destroyed planet, was on alert as they had found something that they were finding for a long time.

The ship was in front of a cacophony of stars that had formed a lotus constellation and were already dispersing. It disappeared immediately for a particular direction.

Present Time.

A whole new transparent window opened up in front of his eyes that almost made him beat his chest like a gorilla.

Leo had received the information from his system that it was in the sprouting stage where it had to fuse with his soul. All these years, Leo had thought that this system of his was a false product, but the truth determined that the system was in its seed phase.

The most disturbing truth was that Leo was born with the system, instead of the system choosing him for the so-called reason of saving this world from purge and destruction.

Leo called out for the status panel out of curiosity, but to his surprise he saw something that puzzled his reasoning.
