Chapter 112: The Death of Basilisk 

Watching the Dragon and the Basilisk fall out of the castle together, Tom Riddle was horrified.

"Are you going to...?" He seemed to realize something. "No! Serpent, run!"

Alaric cast a mocking glance at him.

"Do you know how eagles hunt snakes?" he asked coldly.

"N-no—" Tom screamed in despair.

The dragon then flapped its massive wings and soared into the sky.

It leisurely circled above Hogwarts.

The Basilisk creature slithered on the ground, desperately trying to escape the range of the dragon's attack. 

Unfortunately, the dragon's flying speed far exceeded that of the Basilisk's crawling.

With just a flap of his wings, Alaric immediately caught up with the Basilisk.

He slightly retracted his wings, leaned forward, and dove towards the direction of the Basilisk.

As his body was about to make contact with the ground, he flexibly spread his wings again, arresting his descent, drawing a graceful arc, and then flying back up.

At the lowest point of the trajectory, the dragon precisely positioned itself just under a meter from the Basilisk. His front claws seized the opportunity and firmly grasped the Basilisk's body.

Although the serpent's body was very heavy, Alaric's flying ability was not to be underestimated. He carried the serpent, continuously flying higher into the sky.

Gravity made his dive faster and faster. Finally, in mid-air, he spread his front claws and released the serpent.

The Basilisk was thus thrown from several thousand meters high, crashing heavily onto a tower of Hogwarts Castle.

The Basilisk's body, under the weight of its immense mass and the height of several thousand meters, shattered the tower made of stone.

The Basilisk itself was also smashed to a pulp in this powerful collision.

When Alaric landed beside the Basilisk, the Basilisk, with shattered bones, ruptured organs, and heavy bleeding, was barely alive.

Alaric transformed back into his human form, drew his Infinity Blade, and swung it forcefully at the Basilisk's neck.

The serpent's neck was severed.

Alaric originally intended to deal with the serpent's body and collect precious materials.

 However, because the serpent's body was too badly damaged from the fall, he had to spend a lot of time dealing with this mass of bloody flesh and broken bones.

Normally, he could have done this, but now, Tom Riddle was still around. His Horcrux—the diary—had not been destroyed. So Alaric had to turn back and deal with this first.

He hurried back to the castle, to the place where he had fought the Basilisk. But Tom Riddle was no longer there.

He used magic to search around, but still found nothing.

"Damn it," Alaric gritted his teeth in frustration.

This guy actually saw the situation was not favorable and abandoned the Basilisk, seizing the opportunity to escape on his own.
