"Why have you summoned me here? Is Dunice okay?" Jeffery asked as soon as he and Alex had settled opposite each other on a couch in the VIP section of the restaurant.

"How long have you known Dunice?" Alex asked, ignoring Jeffery's question.

"About four years ago, while she was pregnant," Jeffery replied, looking at Alex skeptically. "Why do you ask, though?"

"So, do you think she was in a relationship after she gave birth to Alix?" Alex asked again, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Jeffery pressed his lips together, clearly hesitant to answer. "What's going on, Alex? Why are you asking all these questions?"

Alex pulled out his journal from beside him and flipped through the pages, stopping at a sketch of a man. He showed it to Jeffrey, his eyes intense with concern. "Do you recognize him? Has he ever been acquainted with Dunice in any way?"
