Curiosity Killed the Cat

A few days passed, but Amanda's curiosity about her neighbor still lingered. Sometimes she also heard a woman scream from the house but no one reported it to the police.

Amanda didn't either because William didn't want them to get involved. It would be too dangerous for Amanda's pregnancy and Lucas' safety. He knew Amanda could take care of herself, but her pregnant state made William more worried about her.
