Chapter 150 - The War On Heaven Part 4

Location: Peripheral of the Divine Realm, Void

Wearing a pure white hakama and in his right hand is the jet black nameless Zanpakuto. Adam stared at the barrier of the Divine Realm, preventing his entry while behind it are the Legions of Angels in full armor, bearing their weapon of war, waiting for him along with numerous gods similarly dressed for battle unlike himself.

The barrier was very thick and invulnerable to all the attacks from volley shots from Orbital Fortresses main cannons to relentless attack from the Sternritters Grade Mechanical Quincy. None of them could scratch the barrier at all.

Those haughty Gods thought their turtle shell was absolute and mocked his attempt to attack their home when he lacked the capability to even enter. But they are mistaken if they think the barrier is unbreakable.

Adam lifted his Zanpakuto and held it in a stance before he gathered his energy on the blade. The power of his semblance focused on the blade before he slashed at the barrier. "Break for me!" He roared before the barrier suddenly had a fine crack that slowly grew larger and larger until it cracked open a hole.

"Attack!" Ray ordered before the Orbital Fortresses behind him launched all the pods they had, carrying all the TSF and Mechs he had in his disposal.

The Mechs and TSF's effectiveness against the Angels and Gods are doubtful at best. But, their sheer numbers made them perfect cannon fodders. The Mechs and TSF purpose is to only distract the Angels and Gods while the Quincy Soldats and Sternritters, respectively, target and kill the Angels and Gods.

It was a total slaughterhouse. His emotionless, unbending and fearless army march upon the Divine Realm of the Gods. Due to the special trait of the Quincy power, the souls of the enemy they killed are devoured and absorbed by Adam, the giver of the power. The more they slaughtered their enemies, the stronger Adam grew in power.

A few Gods flew up to the air and into the shattered Divine Realm's border where Adam floats and oversees the battle. Without even giving a warning or greeting, the Gods immediately attacked him.

One is a golden warrior wield a golden trident yet emitting lightning instead of commanding the water, another is a buffed viking-like warrior wielding a hammer that controls lightning and gather clouds, another is a another golden warrior but with a monkey-like appearance and wielding a red and gold divine staff with dragon motif appearance and finally, a warrior in ancient Greek armor wielding a spear and shield.

"Quite the warm reception, I see." Adam said jokingly at the line up of Gods sent to stop him. From God of Destruction, Shiva, to the easily recognized Thor, the Son of Odin, to Sun Wukong, the Victorious Battle Buddha, and lastly the infamous God of War, Ares.

Those Gods are definitely the strongest fighters the Gods can offer to stop him but unfortunately, he came prepared and expecting this.

One moment ago, it was calm. The next moment, the four Gods simultaneously attacked Adam with their strongest attack without holding back. However, Adam did not move away. He simply and calmly reaches out his left hand in front of him and grabs a hold of the Zanpakuto with a green hilt.

"What?!" The four Gods become alert when their attack reaches Adam, it hits nothing and Adam fades away like a mirage.

Then, Sun Wukong suddenly felt something stabbed him. A jet black blade pierced through his chest and heart from his back. The Monkey King immediately grabbed the blade of the katana with his right hand and shouted, "Kill him now!" The other three Gods nod and attack but once again find themselves hitting nothing while Adam shows them a mocking smirk before he opens his mouth and utters. "Devour."

The Monkey King immediately felt an incredible dread and panic. He can feel his power, his life force and flesh devoured by the blade, ignoring his numerous layers of Immortality that made him otherwise invincible in battle.

Amongst his opponent, Sun Wukong is the most troublesome one. As difficult to kill as cockroaches and full of tricks. So, he sees Sun Wukong as the largest threat and decides to eliminate him first. The other Gods aren't as difficult as Sun Wukong to kill.

The other three Gods realized already at that point, why their attack couldn't connect. Their five senses are confused and manipulated. They immediately use another method to sense Adam instead of their five senses but it was already too late because Adam already devoured Sun Wukong.

Adam kicked away the empty husk of the Monkey King that fell into the void before he vanished. The remaining three Gods could sense Adam is simply moving at incredibly fast speed.

"There!" Thor swung down the Mjolnir and actually hit something! However, he instantly felt something is off because while his attack landed, Adam made neither grunt nor groan after taking his full power swing along with the lightning discharge from Mjolnir. Thor and the other Gods only hear something shatter like glass.

The attack landed but Adam immediately used all his defensive ability including Die Another Day and Blut Vene to absorb the damage while he stabbed his Zanpakuto into Thor's neck and decapitated the God before he immediately escaped again using Flash Step as Trishula sailed past the spot he previously stood.

Adam reappeared again near Shiva, intending to kill him like he did Sun Wukong. But when Adam stabbed his blade, a spear slapped away his blade which only managed to graze Shiva on his shoulder before Ares slammed at Adam from the side with his shield.

"Don't think the same trick will work twice! Outer God!" Ares rushed forward and made another relentless assault on Adam to keep him occupied while Shiva delivered the decisive attack.

"Indeed, you are right. However…" Adam that Ares was attacking suddenly turned into Shiva and by the time the two realized they had been tricked, a black blade already pierced through Shiva's heart while Adam's left hand, pointing his open palm at Ares.

"Devour." "Hado: 90, Kurohitsugi."

Shiva had his divinity, life force and essence sucked dry by the blade while Ares became trapped by the Kido Adam casted on him. However, Shiva will not admit defeat that easily.

"Do you think I will let you use my power against the other Gods? I would rather destroy myself than let you have it!" The power inside Shiva suddenly turned berserk and caused lightning to explode out of his body. He is going to detonate himself.

If he let Shiva explode like this, it could have caught the Orbital Fortresses and his army on the ground in the crossfire. Without any other options, Adam is forced to do a Bankai Release. Adam retreated a few steps back and prepared himself for a slash.

"Awaken, O Dark Celestial Void of Predation" He chanted before he made the slash.

A small black sphere appeared at the point of contact of the slash. The sphere rapidly expanded in size and would greedily devour everything in its vicinity if not for Adam focusing its effect only on Shiva and the trapped Ares.

"Impossible! This is impossible! I can't even deny you a victory…" Shiva with an expression of shock and rage, devoured by the black hole and vanished along with Ares.

This was a victory. A very easy one thanks to Kyoka Suigetsu. Because of the power of Kyoka Suigetsu, he even restricted the option for the gods. They couldn't use powerful and flashy attacks because they didn't know if what they aimed for was really an enemy or if it was their ally that looked like their enemy because of the illusion. Then he picks them out one by one with his nameless Zanpakuto and devours their power to strengthen himself.

But, the last part where he is forced to use Bankai to quickly devour the two Gods caused him quite the harm. He devoured too much too quickly, causing his body to overload and sustaining internal injury. But on the outside, he puts on an illusion to look like he is not injured to demoralized Angels and Gods below fighting his Army.

Kyoka Suigetsu quickly appeared and helped support Adam and landed quickly at the battlefield below. There Adam quickly uses his ability to heal his internal damage and multiple organ failures after his inside basically burst like an overpressured pipe. His critical organs like heart and lungs ruptured and he is still alive because his Aura keeps the blood supply to his brain going.

After a few minutes, he fixed his own body and hacked out a few mouthfuls of blood and flesh pulps of his ruptured organs from his airway.

Standing on the battlefield, Adam can hear the howls of warcry and sound of battle raging on. Metal chunks of chopped up and destroyed Mechs, TSF and Dolls littered the battlefield around him. Adam looked ahead and saw the enemy had been pushed back a lot and his Army was winning despite the Mechs Army being basically nearly annihilated while TSF units only had less than 20% still surviving. However, those losses are easily replaceable. The difficulty to replace one is the Mechanical Quincy and they suffer only 7% casualties of their units numbered in one million. All of the casualties were the Soldats and none Sternritters Grade Mechanical Quincy had been killed.

"Finally decided to grace the battlefield?" Adam turned around when he heard those words and saw Unohana with her hair let loose and smiling although he had a feeling that she is very irritated despite the smile and it didn't take much guess as to why. She is irritated because her opponents are weak and the battle isn't enjoyable. The stronger ones went to intercept him while the less stronger one left on the battlefield fighting along the Angels.

"Well, something is holding me up." Adam replied and noted she might have been standing there the whole time Adam was healing himself up.

"Anyway, no need to be angry. Surely there are other strong opponents waiting for us there." He said helplessly trying to appease this bloodthirsty Shinigami.

"Fine. Let's not make them wait for us." Unohana turns around and uses Shunpo and moves towards the ongoing battle in the inner part of the Divine Realm. Adam follows behind.

On the God's side, it's a total bloodbath.

Angels are the residence of the Heavens like humans are for Earth. They are the most pious believers of Gods or martyrs that enter Heaven upon death. When they die, their souls will cycle back into Heaven and revive instead of going into the underworld. They are not created by god out of light because it's too costly compared to turning their believer's soul into angels although there are those kinds of angels, usually higher ranked angels.

But the point is, because of the Quincy power that devours their souls, even the Divine Soul's of Gods, their number dwindled severely as the majority of the Angels were initially sent as Vanguard to stop the invasion to buy time for the Gods to prepare. But they didn't expect the Angel Legions of tens of millions in number sent as vanguard would be slaughtered down to the last few hundreds, still bravely defending the gate into the Inner Realm where the Gods live.

"Fight bravely! Our service will never be forgotten by our Gods!" The leader shouted, unaware that they wouldn't be revived after death and neither did their Masters dare to tell them the truth.

"We will make our stand and fight to the last man!" The Angels shouted their warcry as their enemies also made their last push.

The TSF made their last push, using their Forcefield to soak up the attacks unleashed on them while the Soldats behind them released rains of Heilig Pfeil that blot out the sky, killing both the TSF units and the Angels they blocked before exploding.

The Sternritter Grandmaster, the highest commanding unit and commander of the Mechanical Quincy verified the completion of their task and immediately informed his creator about the annihilation of the Angel Legions.

"Well done. Now initiate the second phase." Adam suddenly appeared in the sky next to the Sternritter Grandmaster after Unohana arrived first on the ground.

"Order acknowledged, initiating the second phase." The Sternritter Grandmaster says before he transmitted the order across the entire ranks.

In the next moment, all Mechanical Quincies, Soldats or Sternritters charged into the Inner Realm chant the same words in unison.

"Sklaverei!"

Hundreds of thousands of light pillars shoot up to the sky like fireworks in the night sky. They all simultaneously activate their Vollständig and drain all the ambient Reishi of the Divine Realm.

The Divine Realm is an immaterial realm unlike Earth, a material realm. Everything is made of energy similarly to Reishi. Similarly enough to be affected by Sklaverei.

The remaining Angels and Gods and Lesser Gods hiding inside the Divine Realm immediately feel their power drop significantly while their enemies become several folds stronger.

The fortified cities immediately came under siege. A casual shot of Heilig Pfeil from an empowered Sternritter easily punch a hole through the magic barrier while hundreds of thousands of Soldats like swarm of locusts, descend upon those fortified cities and slaughter all its defenders and plunder their souls before moving on to other cities surrounding the Sanctuary where Adam, Unohana, the Sternritter Grandmaster and a handful of the best Sternritters are heading towards.

"It's our enemy's last defense. The place where the God King is waiting." Adam idly said as he and the group walked on the pathway leading up to the Sanctuary.

Unohana turned and looked at Adam for a moment before she asked, "Is he strong?"

Adam chuckled a little before he answered.

"Strong? Very. Strong enough to make those gods you fought look like helpless babies. After all, the God King has all the Faith in his disposal that the other Gods didn't have. Think of it as the level of the Captain Commander in his prime with near endless Reiryoku."

Unohana immediately shivered and wondered how Adam still looked this relaxed until she remembered he had The Almighty. He probably already sees everything from the start to the end of the battle. Yet, he said he has no confidence in victory.

"That is… concerning." Unohana replied but smiled because she never backed down from a challenge, especially with a strong opponent involved.
