A gnawing frustration bloomed in Midori's heart. While she was secretly relieved that Kiyoshi did not kill anyone after all, the question of whether or not Kiyoshi paid Kinta Mori to murder Representative Watanabe remained unanswered.
As soon as Midori returned back home, she dialed the Matsumoto family's number and asked to speak to Kiyoshi.
The one who took the call was the butler of the Matsumoto family. His tone dropped several degrees when Midori identified herself as the caller.
"Excuse me, Miss Midori Takigawa, but Wakasama is not available."
"When is he going to be available, then? I can call a second time," Midori offered.
"Wakasama is very busy," the butler snapped. "I am sorry that I cannot provide you more information, Miss."
Midori sighed into the receiver.
"Very well. Thank you."
Thank you for nothing, Midori thought to herself bitterly. Just before she hung up, the butler spoke again in a hasty tone.
