Leonard Churchill realized the blood vessel issue was very tricky as he listened.
He yanked the blood vessels out of his chest with one tug.
Beyond the initial jolt, the twisting vessels seemed to lack offensive capabilities. They writhed in Leonard's hand, sticking to his skin and corroding with a sizzling sound.
Leonard felt like he was holding a live grenade with the pin pulled out. It wasn't an option to throw it away, nor was it right to keep holding it.
He asked, "Is this blood vessel a living thing?"
Tracy Garcia replied, "You could think of it as... um... something like the twitching nerves of some demon beasts after they die, not quite dead. Only, it's neither living nor dead. Nor does it possess consciousness or spirituality. Its aggressive behavior is merely a conditioned reflex."
The more Leonard heard, the deeper his frown became. "So, how do we deal with it?"
