In the Four Seasons Hotel restaurant in New York, Martin laid eyes on the Naomi that Leonardo had mentioned, who turned out to be none other than the black supermodel Naomi Campbell!
This revelation surprised Martin, who had limited knowledge of Leonardo's tastes. According to common sense, Leonardo should prefer blonde or brown-haired white models, ideally under 25 years old. Martin, on the other hand, realized he wasn't as dedicated as Leonardo. He was open to a broader range, including black or red hair, with skin color being less of a concern as long as they were young and beautiful. Age was also not limited to those under 25. Martin felt somewhat embarrassed to be outdone by this super playboy in terms of professionalism.
Naomi Campbell introduced several female models who had joined her: "This is Alessandro Ambrosio, this is Adriana Lima, this is Karolina Korkova, this is Angela Lindvall, this is Julia Stiegler..."
The last arrival chimed in, "And you must all know her, Heidi Klum."
Leonardo then introduced Martin and Jack Nicholson.
In truth, they were not strangers to each other, having seen each other's names and photos in the media.
As they sat at the dining table, Martin couldn't help but steal another glance at Leonardo, feeling a newfound admiration for him.
These were all A-list models.
However, Martin soon reconsidered his admiration. Naomi asked, "Would you also like to attend Heidi's bachelorette party?"
Leonardo replied, "How can a lady's bachelorette party be without men?" He gestured towards Martin and added, "I've invited all of Hollywood's top macho men."
Martin interjected, "Leo, that's not what you told me." He turned to the supermodels and said, "Do you know what Leo told me? He claimed that as long as he extended an invitation, all of you would definitely come. Now I see he was boasting."
Heidi Klum raised her glass to Martin, saying, "I'm delighted that you can join my bachelorette party."
Martin raised his glass in return, "Heidi, it's my pleasure."
As they shared a toast, Martin took the opportunity to lean in and chat with Carolina, seated next to him. "Could you explain to me what's happening? I'm still a bit confused."
KK whispered back, "Because Heidi is getting married, we've all gathered here from different places. We're preparing a special bachelorette party for her in New York."
Martin nodded in understanding.
Angela Lindvall, on the other side, blinked her fox-like eyes and chimed in, "Naomi mentioned that she could invite Leonardo to the party, and Leonardo even came up with a theme for the party. We're meeting tonight to discuss it."
Martin finally comprehended that part of Leonardo's immense charm was opportunity, in addition to his appeal.
Heidi Klum was getting married and planning a celebratory party before her wedding. How could a ladies' carnival be complete without men?
The modeling world was indeed different from Hollywood.
It was a classic case of "like attracting like."
Before dinner was even finished, the conversation veered in an unexpected direction.
Ambrosio suddenly suggested, "Besides us seven, there will be a few newcomers at the party. Martin, you're the only man invited."
Adriana smiled wickedly, "You better be prepared. Let me tell you, we models work out a lot every day."
Angela Lindvall grinned like a sly fox, "If anyone declines that day, our sisters will toss him into the sea!"
Martin was the first to voice his opinion, "If anyone begs for mercy, we'll strip him naked, tie him up, and toss him in front of the yacht."
Heidi Klum approved, "No problem." She turned to Leonardo, "Leo, what do you think?"
Leonardo was momentarily taken aback, "Let's discuss that later."
In contrast, Jack Nicholson, an old rascal, was rather fearless, "Even if I need medication, I won't back down."
Naomi, who had had several flings with him, teased, "What kind of stamina do you have? Others might not know, but I do."
Nicholson pointed at Martin and Leonardo and said defiantly, "Apart from being younger, what else do these two losers have? I may be older, but I have skill and experience..."
Martin retorted, "No matter how skilled you are, a softie is still a softie and won't turn into a stone."
KK and Angela chuckled nearby.
Martin raised his voice, "Leo, don't chicken out; state your position!"
While Leonardo didn't explicitly admit defeat, he explained, "When Naomi invited me, I mentioned that Heidi should have a unique theme for her party. That's why she invited Hollywood's top hunk and party expert, Martin Davis, to plan it."
KK grabbed Martin's arm, eager to hear more, "What's the theme?"
Having worked in the modeling industry for years, the models were excited to try something new and thrilling.
All eyes were on Martin.
Martin began, "Now, please excuse the gentlemen for a moment—Leo, old Jack, don't you dare wink at me. I'm referring to you. Hurry up and leave; I'm about to discuss the women's part. I'll reveal the men's part later. We must keep some secrets for the element of surprise."
"That's right," Leonardo agreed and took the lead in exiting the private room.
Jack Nicholson followed suit.
The door closed behind them, and no sounds could be heard from inside.
Nicholson quipped, "He's not trying to get rid of us and enjoy his meal inside, is he? That scoundrel is capable of anything."
Leonardo snorted and pointed to the door, "Those seven supermodels have been tested for endurance." He added, "If Martin dares to mess around, we'll be calling an ambulance for him tonight."
He was starting to feel a little concerned: "Are there other female models participating?"
Leonardo understood the dynamics of the modeling world and explained, "Bar Refaeli, Doutzen Krose, Isabelle Caro, Miranda Kerr... they're all up-and-coming models. Heidi Klum is now the lead Victoria's Secret Angel. If they get her recommendation, they might have a shot at this year's Victoria's Secret show."
The seasoned Nicholson grew serious: "This is quite serious."
Leonardo grabbed his arm, saying, "Thinking of backing out, Jack? Don't blame me if you do. If you bail, word will spread throughout the modeling circle and Hollywood that you're a coward."
Nicholson, never one to back down from a challenge, retorted, "I'll go standing and come back lying down if necessary."
After a while, the door to the private room swung open from the inside, and Adriana beckoned, "Come in."
Leonardo and Nicholson reentered the private room to find Martin, with KK on his left arm and Angela Lindvall on his right, engaged in a hushed conversation with Heidi Klum.
There were seven lipstick marks adorning his face and neck.
Leonardo spread his arms wide and exclaimed, "This is hardly fair!"
Heidi concluded the conversation.
Martin chimed in, "It's fair. The angels are just thanking me for my great idea."
Heidi clapped her hands to get everyone's attention and said, "You all helped plan, organize, and participate in my bachelorette party. I'm thrilled and grateful. In order for each of us to let loose, have fun, and enjoy ourselves without any worries, I have a few suggestions."
Leonardo said, "Feel free to share them."
Heidi smiled and continued, "From now on, there's a ban on flirting until the party is over! Also, everyone attending the party needs to provide me with an updated health report—it's solely for our well-being."
The angels readily agreed.
Martin, Leonardo, and Old Jack had no objections either.
After dinner, both groups reluctantly bid each other farewell, with plans to meet up again over the weekend.
As they saw off the female models, Martin suggested, "It's still early. How about heading to the bar for a drink?"
Both Leonardo and Jack Nicholson, one a top Hollywood figure and the other a veteran in the industry, wanted to foster a stronger bond.
"Let's have a drink," Old Jack said, heading toward the bar.
Martin and Leonardo followed suit.
The three of them ordered drinks, found an empty booth, and continued chatting over drinks.
Martin asked directly, "How open are they?"
Leonardo succinctly stated, "The modeling industry is far more open than Hollywood. Don't worry about limits; instead, worry if your body can handle it." Old Jack chimed in sarcastically, "Hero, you don't think you're useless, do you?"
Martin came up with an idea, "What if we open a betting market among us three? It could be fun, and we could even add some incentives." Old Jack quipped, "Are you trying to arrange for someone else to be with your wife if you lose?"
Both Martin and Leonardo replied, "No problem."
Old Jack smacked his forehead, realizing his mistake, "I'm such a fool! You two aren't married, and probably never will be."
Leonardo had an interesting addition, "To make it even more exciting, whoever outperforms the other two gets to make a request, and the other two have to fulfill it."
Martin agreed, "Okay."
Old Jack asked, "How do we determine this? A competition?"
Leonardo, with experience on his side, explained, "Two factors: endurance time and a vote by the ladies."
Neither Martin nor Old Jack had any objections. To maintain fairness, they agreed not to leak any news and would wait until after the party to make their selections.
Leonardo added, "Although this is Heidi's bachelorette party, she can't cover the yacht rental cost. We'll cover it."
Martin pointed at Old Jack, "You'll be responsible for the expenses."
The old rascal protested, "Why me?"
Martin casually reasoned, "The three of us are special guests. Leo, you arranged this opportunity, right?"
Leonardo rushed to agree, raising his glass, "Without me, you wouldn't even know about this party. Without my good reputation among the Victoria's Secret Angels, they wouldn't have accepted you." Martin pointed at his chest, "The party is set to last two days over the weekend, and I prepared the theme that they loved. I got through the most crucial part."
Leonardo concurred, "Heidi said they were hesitant without your theme."
Martin gestured towards Old Jack, "And you? Old Jack? You shamelessly showed up at the party without contributing anything. Are you here just to embarrass yourself? Are you embarrassed?"
Even though Nicholson was a rascal, he was left speechless this time. Being responsible for taking that piece of cake felt rather tasteless.
