"Ivy, it's not what it looks like. I..." Damian was caught up in his sentence by Ivy's sudden hug.
He heard her sob but was confused. Wondering what to say to calm her down, he stroked her hair gently.
"If I hadn't done that, one of us might have been dead by now." He pointed out and she nodded.
"I know, I know but it's so frightening. I never knew you would do that."
'There are so many things you don't know yet.' he thought as she sniffed, trying to hold on the tears. "You have to calm down, so we can get out of here safely."
"Ye...yes, yes of course. I have to calm down." She told herself to his hearing but she was still shaking. Her whole body was trembling with fear.
She removed herself from his embrace and tried to walk but couldn't, so Damian swept her off her feet and into his arms.
"You..."
"Stay calm. I'll get us out of here." He assured and carried her out in a hurry.
