Chapter 9: Two Secretly Discuss, If He Goes, Everyone Will Collapse

"Alright, Chiba! Hurry home," Sarutobi Hiruzen said, turning his back and waving his right hand in a muffled voice. However, he forgot that Chiba was behind him and couldn't see his waving movements at all. 

Despite hearing what the Hokage said, Chiba didn't move his footsteps.

"Master Hokage! What about my cow..." 

Chiba was still thinking about the reimbursement mentioned earlier.

"Danzo, give him the money!" 

Sarutobi Hiruzen urged, and Danzo flicked a few coins. The coins flew through the air in a circular arc and landed precisely in Chiba's hands.

"Is that okay?" Chiba was a little confused. They were clearly back to back, so he wondered how the money was thrown into his hands. It seemed like magic.

Examining the money in his hand, Chiba counted it and realized it was just enough to buy a new cow. 

He had expected Danzo to give him more, but he realized he had been overthinking things.

"Chiba! You must be tired from your journey. Go home and rest!" 

Sarutobi Hiruzen urged in a muffled voice. 

"By the way, if possible, try not to go out."

After adding this sentence, Sarutobi Hiruzen's figure suddenly turned into smoke, and Danzo disappeared as well.

Sarutobi Hiruzen and Danzo appeared one after another in the Sarutobi clan residence, where they started taking deep breaths of fresh air. 

After several rounds of breathing, they finally felt alive again.

"Although Chiba's smell is strong, his ability could be useful in resisting Sand Shinobi," Danzo remarked, considering a way to keep Chiba away.

However, Sarutobi Hiruzen shook his head. 

"Chiba's ability is repulsive. He should never be placed on the front line. With his smell alone, our Konoha troops would collapse, even without the Sand Shinobi attacking."

Danzo was taken aback by Hiruzen's statement. He realized that Chiba's odor was indeed strong enough to significantly affect the combat effectiveness of the entire ninja army.

"Since we can't have him in our ninja army, let's send him to the Sand Shinobi," Danzo suggested, correcting himself.

Hiruzen rolled his eyes in response. "Put him among the Sand Shinobi? How?"

Expressing his dissatisfaction, Hiruzen sighed. As Hokage, he wasn't foolish and had already considered Chiba's potential role on the battlefield. 

However, after careful analysis, he concluded that it would be pointless. Chiba's odor would give him away, and he would be easily eliminated by the Sand Shinobi.

"Forget about Chiba for now," Hiruzen waved his hand, changing the subject. He wanted to focus on his upcoming meal and didn't want anything to ruin his appetite.

As Chiba made his way home, he couldn't help but feel a bit bitter. 

"How stingy! I lost my cow, and my cart hasn't been reimbursed yet..." 

He briefly considered going back to Danzo to request reimbursement for the cart but realized it would be too troublesome. With a sigh, he stuffed the money into his pocket and quickened his pace.

The sky was growing dark, and Chiba felt a bit scared. His residence was near a garbage dump, where stray dogs often fought over food at night. Due to this, Chiba rarely went out after dark.
