Wayne Bailey's hand paused, his eyes fixed on her intently, the heat beneath the solid ice surging again.
"Ms. Jadwin, are you jealous?"
"Jealous of your big shrimp head!"
"I'll feed you tonight." He lowered his voice, ambiguously flirtatious.
Anna Jadwin was annoyed and flushed with embarrassment, headbutting him like a stubborn little cow.
Wayne Bailey laughed knowingly, in a great mood. He picked her up and put her on his lap, disregarding the dirty footprints she left on the chair's seat.
His large hand rubbed her forehead, "Hitting a rock with an egg is the most foolish act. Did it hurt?"
Anna Jadwin pulled his hand away, rubbing her forehead with dissatisfaction.
Sarah Bailey couldn't hold back any longer, hands propped on the table, leaning in with a laugh, "Big brother, is this the adorable little wife Grandpa chose for you?"
Big brother? So affectionate!
Anna Jadwin snorted heavily through her nostrils, her hand pinching his thigh.
