Chapter 29. Self-Detonation

===Godrick===

Fire burned all around as Godrick took his stance. He held his left arm out in front of him, ready to catch anything that was thrown, while his right arm was cocked and ready to strike out.

Achilles and Karna stood a ways away from him, readying themselves for another round. They had seen their Noble Phantasms hit the Juggernaut, but now they stood perplexed seeing him standing there with a grin on his face.

Their foe didn't give them much time to ponder on their thoughts, as lightning covered his body, and with a sudden burst of energy he was in front of them.

Achilles reacted first, ducking Godricks right fist just to have a knee planted in his chest. Achilles stepped back from the blow, only to be kicked in the jaw and sent flying away.

Karna had swung out with his spear, which Godrick had fallen to the ground with a hand behind him to dodge. As he did he brought his right leg up and kicked Achilles.

Karna thrust downwards with his spear, trying to impale the Juggernaut. Godrick let the spear scrape his armor as he shot back up to a standing position. As he did, he buried his left fist into Karnas stomach, sending the servant away.

Achilles reappeared from wherever he had been, scoring a hit against Godricks right shoulder pauldron. He was actually able to draw some blood this time, which surprised him. He couldn't revel in his triumph for long however, as he then brought his spear in a backwards slash. Godrick twisted his body as he brought his right knee up to catch the spears shaft, as his right fist also cocked back. He struck out, catching Achilles in the face. Achilles shot towards the ground, carving a deep crevice.

Godrick jumped high into the air, letting gravity bring him down on Achilles who was able to react at the last second. He leapt out of the crevice just as Godrick landed, breaking the ground.

Godrick leapt forward, tackling Achilles to the ground. When they hit the ground, Godrick rolled over Achilles while grabbing his armor. He rolled back to his feet, and with a heave, threw Achilles as hard as he could towards the mountains.

Achilles' body obliterated the mountain and continued to soar through the sky.

Godrick stood as Karna reappeared, holding his spear steady as they waited for one another to make the first move.

===Jeanne===

As she looked across the battlefield in front of her, Jeanne felt a fourth Servant appear where Godrick was.

"Oh good. Siegfried might be able to help him finish the fight faster." She said to herself as she began to run the opposite direction, leaving Godrick and Siegfried to finally take out the two other servants.

===Godrick===

Feeling an ally arrive near where he stood, Godrick turned to see it was Siegfried. He had an emotionless face as he walked over to Godrick, who turned his back to him, expecting him to stand by his side. Instead, he felt a sharp burning pain from his back and chest.

Looking down, he saw the tip on a sword sticking out of his chest. Shock and pain ran through his nerves as it was ripped from him, then reacting quickly he was able to twist away from the blade as it came for his neck. The blade left a large gash on his armor as he twisted, nearly evading it.

Karna was in disbelief at seeing the betrayal that had taken place. Soon he felt the familiar magical power of a command seal being used on him.

The command was a simple one. 'Kill the Juggernaut.'

He fought with all his might against the command, but his body seemed to move on its own, leaping forward and driving his spear at the Knight. Godrick saw the blow coming and tried to knock It away. He was able to, but it didn't help him much as the spear that was aimed for his chest, sunk into his right thigh instead.

Gritting his teeth, Godrick felt Siegfried cut deeply into his arm as he continued his assault. Suddenly whistling could he heard and Siegfried ducked as Godricks halberd flew right where his head was. The moment it was in his hand, Godrick released all the energy it had stored, generating a huge kinetic explosion that pushed the two servants away.

Godrick had a moment of reprieve as he assessed his situation. It was now three against one, once Achilles came back, but he didn't mind. He still had an ace up his sleeve that could wipe them out. The only problem he had then was Achilles thanks to his immortality.

Deciding to go with the plan he had formed, he once again adopted a battle ready stance. He could see Karna, Siegfried, and Achilles who had just dropped from his chariot doing the same.

"I don't know what has caused you to turn on you comrade, but I don't like it one bit." Karna said to Siegfried as they prepared for one final clash.

"The same thing that caused you to take advantage of my betrayal." Siegfried replied through gritted teeth. He had been furious when his master had commanded him to betray the Juggernaut. It went against everything that he stood for. Betrayal among comrades was the mortal sin of war, and he had just committed it.

"look, let's just kick this guy's ass already alright?" Achilles said in a tone that told of his displeasure.

"Do you have a plan? Because unless I'm wrong, we're the ones getting our asses kicked." Karna said.

"What, are you expecting some power of friendship bullshit to beat this guy? Just go for the left, I'll go for the right, and Saber here will go for the middle yeah? Sounds great, good job team!" Achilles said scornfully as he blitzed forward, leaving the two others to follow.

Unfortunately for them they had played right into Godricks palm, as he swung his halberd, hitting all three of their weapons. Spinning with the swing, he slammed his halberd down into Karnas raised spear, knocking it aside. He followed through with the strike, bringing it down on Siegfried who was unprepared.

Luckily the sword was to his left, so he was able to raise it to barely save himself.

Unluckily, that just meant his own sword was used As a club to beat him into the ground.

Godrick chose to take Achilles spear to the ribs, allowing him to drop his halberd and grab Achilles by the neck. He then stomped forward down onto Siegfried, pinning him to the ground. Using his right hand, he brought it back to knock Karnas spear away before grabbing him by the throat as well.

Godrick now used his final ability of his Noble Phantasm.

The self detonation.

This ability released all the energy he had stored from past Noble Phantasms in one devastating explosion. The trade off however, would be that his stats would all fall by one rank for a short while, leaving him weak and vulnerable.

Godricks hair turned into a golden flame and danced around as his eyes began to glow the same color. Time seemed to stop as Godrick dominated the three servants, Achilles and Karna held by their throats, while Siegfried was under his right boot. The three servants were struggling to free themselves to no avail as the Juggernauts iron grip kept them in place as everything turned into a golden dome that covered the ground for thousands of feet.

The area had looked like it had grown a Golden sun, as flares of energy wafted off of it, destroying the rocks, trees, and anything that might be nearby.

Suddenly a shockwave flattened everything around as the golden dome seemed to pop like a bubble, sending a golden beam into the sky as energies lashed out and around it. Waves of soil, rock, and all manner of things were blown away from the epicenter, leaving nothing but bedrock.

Soon the light faded and the darkness of night returned.

At the bottom of the explosion lay two figures, one being Godrick, while the other being Achilles.

Achilles had survived due to his immortality, but that was no more. The attack had obviously hit his ankle, leaving him at death's door.

As the smoke cleared, Godrick could be seen getting up from the ground himself. The explosion had not left him untouched as well, leaving him in a poor state. The upper part of his armor was destroyed, only leaving the lower part intact. He had burns all over his skin, same as Achilles. The two met eyes and understood what was to happen.

They both stood and lunged.

Achilles outclassed Godrick in every aspect of combat. He was faster, much more skilled, and had years of experience on Godrick. The only problem Achilles had, was he was in a very weakened state just like Godrick was. This wouldn't be a battle of legend like in the myths. This was simply two men in a good old fashionedfist fight.

Achilles slipped Godrick left hook and delivered a right hook to Godricks ribs before ducking Godrick's right swing and delivering multiple punches to his foes gut.

He was amazed at the resilience the Juggernaut possessed, seeming to never feel the pain, or run out of stamina.

Achilles speed and smaller stature was his main advantage, letting him dodge and hit the knight where he pleased.

Godrick could feel himself being worn down, but he couldn't stop. As he swung his right fist, Achilles was able to duck, letting him deliver multiple blows to Godricks stomach.

He could feel his ribs cracking. Feel every ounce of pain that offered him. But he used it to fuel himself onwards.

Fainting a left uppercut, Godrick drove Achilles to his right, where he struck out and smashed his fist into the man's face.

Dazed, Achilles wasn't able to block or dodge the following left uppercut to his stomach, making him double over.

Godrick capitalized and drove his right fist down and into Achilles back, sending him to the ground.

Fast as lightning, Achilles twisted from the ground, letting him kick Godricks legs from under him, sending the Juggernaut to the ground. Jumping into the air, he brought his elbow down into Godrick's face.

This left Achilles ribs open, which Godrick didn't waist, driving his left fist up and into the exposed midsection. Achilles let out a grunt as he landed, and pulled away, leaving Godricks face bloody.

The two disengage from each other, letting them stand and ready themselves once more.

This time Achilles struck first, striking at Godricks ribs once more. The knight blocked with his forearm, cocking his right fist back and firing it forward, only for his smaller opponent to slip it.

Achilles kicked out at his foes right leg, sending the Juggernaut to one knee before leaping up and delivering a knee straight to the face.

Godricks head was snapped back, leaving his dazed for a split second, which Achilles didn't let go to waist.

With all his strength he threw a right haymaker, straight into Godricks chest, sending him back into the ground.

Godrick clenched his jaw and fought through the pain as one thought ran through his mind.

'don't stop!'

Ripping himself from the ground he caught Achilles by surprise hitting him hard enough for him to smash into the bedrock behind him.

Godrick was before him in an instant, ramming his shoulder into the man as he ran through the rock and stone with his enemy. Bursting out the other side, he drove him into another large rock before delivering a flurry of blows.

Godrick struck out with both fists, keeping his opponent on the defensive, until a particularly nasty left hook that was so strong, it make Achilles bounce off the bedrock behind him.

As Achilles bounced back, Godrick was ready with a right haymaker that ended the fight.

Achilles was thrown through the rock once more, landing nearby.

"That's all I've got." Achilles said as Godrick approached.

"I've pushed all I can. I don't have any more."

The two were covered in sweat and blood. Godricks bare chest was covered in small and large wounds, leaving blood trails down his torso.

"You know what." Achilles said as he started to fade into blue particles.

"I know a guy who you'd get along with really well. He's from where I'm from. He doesn't speak much like you and… you know. The more I think about it, you two are pretty alike. Maybe you'll get to meet him if you're lucky." He said as he fully faded.

With Lancer and Rider of red defeated, the red faction had lost a lot of its force. All that remains is Assassin, Caster, and Archer.

While the black faction still has Archer, Rider, and Berserker. In addition, the black faction also has Saber of red, as well as Jeanne, and himself.

'Maybe things are starting to look up.' Godrick thought to himself.

===Shirou Amakusa===

"Damn them. They couldn't even take out one person." Shirou said as he watched the screen in front of him. Assassin, Caster, and Archer were standing near him, watching as he vented his rage.

"Even with the addition of Saber of black, they couldn't even last for one minute."

He looked at the screen in hatred as he thought of everything on the line.

Suddenly he turned and walked out of the door. Curious, the others followed him to a spacious room that held a huge Orb.

"Seems I've got to do everything around here." He said to himself as he ripped off his shirt.

"Years of planning for this one moment, now I have to put it on hold for this.. Juggernaut." He spat. "Oh well. I've waited this long. I can wait till the next holy grail war."

"Assassin." He called out. "There's been a change of plans."
