Reuniting against the odds

The system kept reporting Dante's location in her mind.

[19th floor…18th…16th…15th floor…13th floor…]

When they reached the tenth floor, Ryett who insisted on leading the way, stiffened and bared his small canines against the direction towards the eleventh floor, and slowly backed off until he was crouching on the bent to protect the female behind him. 

Arianne perked her ear after she heard the low growls escaping from the gaps of Ryett's teeth. She tugged his sleeves and asked, "What's the matter?" 

"Retreat." He urged her while his eyes remained fixated on the darkness ahead of him as if something were coming.

[Host, I can see something moving fast. It's definitely not Dante. He's still on the twelve floor.]

"It's too late." Arianne checked the radar and found out a dot was flickering towards the center with astonishing speed, as if it were equipped with a turbo. Due to the five seconds delay of the real-time radar, she didn't notice it.
