[3rd POV]
"Is he really going to be alright?"
A small voice sounded loud and echoed due to the silence. The room was modern and had some Japanese decoration to it which made it quite unique compared to normal Korean rooms.
On the bed of the room lies Yuito who was wrapped up in bandages. There were many IV stands and other medical equipment like medical oxygen and heart monitors beside the bed.
A doctor was currently checking his body and with each examination and findings, the doctor's eyes widened with surprise and odd excitement. That's why Vivi asked the question in the first place.
"He will be fine." Tsukimi consoled the older yet juvenile girl beside her. The place was her room and she had been sheltering Yuito who had shown no sign of waking up for two days now.
Not only that, she was also taking care of Vivi and Xiaolung because she knew that's what Yuito would've wanted. It was also the reason why he fought so hard in the first and she would be damned if she made his sacrifice go to waste.
It was hard, sheltering the daughter of a billionaire and her bodyguard as everyone wanted to capture them. But for over two days, Tsukimi had done a good job hiding them.
"Will he really? How do you know?" Vivi asked in a crying tone that prompted Tsukimi to wrap her arms around the smaller girl and bring her in for a hug.
"It's all my fault," Vivi muttered and buried her face in Tsukimi's shoulder.
She was the reason why Yuito got hurt. He fought so hard to protect her and Xiaolung to the point of nearly killing himself.
Tsukimi made no effort to deny her claim because what she said was true. But she sympathized with the girl and hugged her tighter.
"He is stronger than any of us know."
He was perfect.
He will be fine. If he was not, that would be the end of the world for her so she dared not consider it.
Tsukimi carefully observed the doctor as he examined Yuito. She wondered what the change in his facial expression was about. Was it good or bad? From the looks of it, it might be good news.
After a few minutes of more checking and different tests, the doctor stood up and moved away from the bed.
"President, would you follow me please? I have something important to tell you." The doctor said while writing down final notes on the file he was carrying.
"Of course." She answered with a nod and separated from Vivi.
Vivi got the meaning behind the gesture and moved away from Tsukimi. She walked up to the bed where Yuito was laying and sat beside him. She held Yuito's bandaged handshandsand and offer silent prayers.
On the other hand, Tsukimi and the doctor walked out of the room to have a talk.
"So, what is his condition." Tsukimi asked in a measured tone that failed to fully hide her worry and impatience.
"President, that is what I wanted to talk to you about." The doctor said and inched closer to her, "He had almost made a complete recovery in just two days!"
"In all my years as a doctor, I have never seen anything like this before. Bones that should take 5 weeks to heal are already joined together and muscle tears which should've taken 2 weeks to recover from had now been completely fixed! He is healing at a supernatural rate. Almost like a comic hero." Said the doctor in a town of excitement.
Tsukimi felt like a boulder was lifted off her shoulder and her heart was finally relieved from drowning in endless worry. She cared not what the doctor was saying but focused only one fact.
He was fine.
"Any problems with his body?"
"No. Other than the fact that his body is consuming nutrients - glucose and protein like a racing horse on steroid treatment, there is nothing notable. We are also providing him with the necessary nutrients with the IVs so it is only a matter of time before he is up and running."
"That's good."
The doctor stayed silent for a minute and twitched in his place. He was wondering if he should say what was clearly on his mind.
"President, if you don't mind. I want to ask permission to do some more examination on the patient and maybe conduct some experiments. If I can find out what is enabling him to heal so quickly, we can-" The doctor stopped because he felt a sudden change in the air.
It was weird. It was not an actual sensation but something he felt in the deepest parts of his bones.
Tsukimi's face remained the same, stoic and aloof but her eyes were a little less kinder and less humane than before.
"Doctor Kim Tae Jung, please I would advise you to do what you are asked and what you are asked only." She said in a soft voice but was full of hidden daggers.
The doctor gulped. Maybe it was a bad idea to ask that when he had no idea of her relationship with the patient.
"O-Of course President."
Tsukimi allowed a long silence to stretch as the doctor got more and more nervous in front the girl who was the age of her daughter. He did not register such a fact when he had seen her ordering the deaths of people with an uncaring wave.
"I hope you don't have a loud mouth and go around telling people about what exactly you do while working." She said and the message was clear.
Do not talk about what you found out today ever.
"You can leave now." She said, "And leave the file of the patient on the table."
The doctor gritted his teeth but more scared than angry, he went out of the house after leaving the file on the table.
Tsukimi picked up the file and read the content carefully. It was a detailed record of Yuito's body parameters and his two day recovery.
When she heard that the doctor wanted to do some things on Yutio, Tsukimi almost lost it. She was afraid and cautious, for good reason.
There was a mad scientist doctor in the First Affiliate of the workers. He would kidnap strong fighters and do experiments on them.
He also created a monstrous beast made from different body parts, like Frankenstein which was the protector of the First Affiliate.
She was aware of what these unhinged intellects could do. She would rather Yuito never face such problems in his life. Espeically when she was around.
She dropped the file table and went back to her room to stay with Yuito. Vivi could not stay with him for long because there was Xiaolung in the guest room which Vivi also had to tend to.
To make sure that no word got out that Vivi and Xiaolung were hiding in her house, she could not invite maids or people into her house. So it was just the four of them along with fee truated security. Two worried girls and their respective injured love, Yuito and Xiaolung.
She stayed with him for a long time. It was early in the morning when the doctor came for a check-up and she stayed beside him for the whole morning.
She had stopped doing every work for the past two days now and she was going to do the same today. She couldn't have worked with him in her mind anyway so she didn't bother.
She was just content to be beside him again. To gaze at his face no matter how bruised. To smell his scent and to touch and care for him again.
When it was noon and she felt hungry, she went out of the room to make some food for herself and Viv.
She opened the door simply and went out of her room. She closed the door behind her and when she turned around, she froze as she saw an intruder in the kitchen.
Or could he be considered an intruder?
Eugene was standing there, beside the table and he was reading a file in his hand. A medical file with the name 'Yuito Fujita' on it.
He noticed her immediately but didn't acknowledge her presence. She also remained still and quiet and she watched him take a sip from a glass of juice as he read the file like a newspaper.
"I apologise for the uninvited entry, I hope you don't mind." Eugene started off slow, his body language tells his carefree and confident mind.
"Or maybe you do mind but it doesn't matter." He said.
"I am way above caring about how you feel." He folded the file and to her relief, he threw it on the table again.
He pushed back his glasses which made it shine, hiding his eyes and his emotions.
Tsukimi clenched her hands.
