In the year 2010, early in the morning, the Avengers held their first secret meeting to listen to Tony Stark and the other Avengers' reports on the situation in the Questionnaire Space. They democratically made decisions, planned the next steps, and arranged their current priorities. Nick Fury, the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., presided over and gave a speech.

The meeting pointed out that unexpected threats were increasing on Earth. Loki, Ultron, and Thanos were each a disaster for humanity. All Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. members needed to raise their positions, consolidate consensus, be clear-headed, and be ready to sacrifice themselves at any moment. They had to come together, take action, and run with dedication to achieve a phase and transformative development in the Earth's resistance forces.

The meeting emphasized setting clear timelines, developing plans based on the urgency of the threats. Each threat from Loki, Ultron, and Thanos had to be addressed. The main focus was on developing technological weapons, with magical assistance as a secondary measure. They had to be proficient in both technology and magic. All Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. members must stick to decisions, act immediately, and work together, aligning their minds and efforts like a tightly knit rope to turn the planning blueprint into reality.

The meeting demanded that all Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. members establish standards, clarify rules, improve mechanisms, and master their skills to ensure effective work implementation, working hard and striving for real results, ensuring the successful completion of their mission to resist Loki, Ultron, and Thanos, providing strong protection for the safety of the lives and property of the entire nation.

The meeting also discussed other matters.

"So, what exactly did the meeting say?" After the meeting was over, Tony Stark fell into deep confusion. It seemed like it was an important meeting with a lot of information emphasized and pointed out, but upon careful consideration, he had no idea what was discussed. It felt like they had held the meeting for nothing!

"I'm never going to attend meetings again!" Tony Stark secretly made up his mind.

"Fury, we need to plan the rescue mission for Bucky," Steve Rogers finally mentioned Bucky after the meeting.

"I'll immediately set up a laboratory and gather top scientists from all over the country to research the serum," Nick Fury said in a solemn tone. "Captain, you must be prepared for this; it can't be rushed. After all, it's the serum that made you, and if we develop it in just a few days, it might raise suspicions."

"I understand, Fury. I've got patience for someone who has been asleep for 70 years," Steve Rogers said.

"Stark, once the laboratory is set up, I hope you'll also come and check it out," Nick Fury said to Tony Stark.

"It's just a fake research, why waste my time on it?" Tony Stark instinctively wanted to refuse. "I have urgent matters on my side."

"That's because you are the most remarkable genius in this world," Nick Fury said, "If you frequently visit the laboratory, no one will suspect it's fake. I know your time is tight, so you don't need to come in person. Just let Jarvis pilot your armor and fly over."

"That's a good idea," Tony Stark agreed.

"Having discussed external enemies, it's time to discuss internal ones," Nick Fury's eyes flashed with cold light. "HYDRA must be completely eradicated this time!"

With a massive S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury was at a loss on whom to trust.

"Fury, we mustn't act too hastily," Tony Stark said. "The first and most crucial step to eradicate HYDRA is to find out all the HYDRA members to ensure that none are missed, then strike them with precision."

"I understand," Nick Fury said.

"Director, how do we investigate?" Phil Coulson looked worried. "We don't know how many HYDRA members are in our agency; that's just one issue. Secondly, HYDRA must be watching us, and any of our actions will likely be noticed by them."

"People we don't trust can't be used, and those we trust are afraid to be used..." Nick Fury fell silent for a while before speaking again. "It seems that we need to introduce a variable."

"Introduce a variable?"

"Police station, FBI, CIA—anywhere will do. We need to find someone to come in, and most importantly, they must be clean and reliable," Nick Fury said in a deep voice. "Moreover, they must be inconspicuous, someone who won't draw attention, or even if noticed, they will be overlooked. Coulson, find me such a person to investigate the HYDRA list."

"Yes, sir!" Phil Coulson saluted and left.

Two weeks later, Phil Coulson placed a file in front of Nick Fury. "Director, I think this person meets your requirements."

"John Wick, NYPD, 20 years old..." Nick Fury quickly browsed through the information. "A 20-year-old young man, who became a police officer through connections, lacks ambition, and spends his days idly, just killing time. If his father didn't require him to work outside for two years before inheriting the company, he probably wouldn't even do this job. This person is truly unremarkable; if we bring him in, HYDRA won't pay any attention to him. However, what I need is someone who can investigate HYDRA, which means I need an elite. He'd better look like a waste, but he can't actually be one."

"Director, this person is not a waste," Phil Coulson said. "I've done some digging and found out some things that weren't in the files. Before becoming a police officer, he once encountered robbers in a bank and took down two armed robbers with his bare hands, although his methods were extremely underhanded and even despicable. But that was five years ago when he was just a teenager. His father's company almost went bankrupt three years ago, but he brought it back to life with a series of amazing methods. Everyone called him a genius, but actually, he's the one giving orders, and his father is the one executing them. This guy, John Wick, is very intelligent. He may not be on Tony Stark's level, but at the age of ten, he could solve problems that were as difficult as those given to Harvard graduate students. Besides, he has written music and novels, all of which were excellent works when he was very young. He seems to have no desire to claim them as his own; he's very low-key..."

...

It was a sunny day.

Another day of idleness.

John Wick sat in his seat, playing with a toy gun.

"I really don't understand what Dad is thinking. What does inheriting the company have to do with working here? Why do I have to work?" John Wick still couldn't comprehend his father's thoughts. "If I'm working, then I'm working. Why should I become a police officer?"

"John, come here!" At this moment, the bald-headed police chief walked out of his separate office and beckoned to him.

"Chief, what's up?" John Wick sat casually in front of the police chief.

"John, I have a task for you..."

"I'm not interested

." John Wick interrupted the police chief directly.

"John, you must understand what your duty is as a police officer."

"I understand. It's to idle and kill time."

"..." The police chief almost gasped for breath, he patted the table, "John, I know you want to leave this place as soon as possible and become a second-generation rich, inheriting your father's company. But do you think it was my idea to keep you here? It was your father! For twenty years, he has never bowed to me even once. For your sake, he invited me out to drink three times. You little brat, you just don't understand your father's heart!"

"Okay, okay, what's the task?"

"I can see it now. You, this great god, must feel very uncomfortable in my small temple, so I plan to send you to another unit to gain some experience." The bureau chief said seriously, "John, that place is not easy to get into. Once you go there, you must perform well. Who knows, maybe one day I'll count on you to mentor others."

"What unit?"

"The National Land Strategic Defense Attack and Logistics Support Bureau," the bureau chief said.

..."Li Cheng felt like he had ten thousand mythical beasts running through his mind. How could S.H.I.E.L.D. come looking for him? Although the bureau chief said it was for gaining experience, he was sure it was S.H.I.E.L.D. that found him.

"I know the name is a bit lengthy, but you can call them S.H.I.E.L.D.," the bureau chief thought Li Cheng's expression was because of the lousy name.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was a troublesome whirlpool, and how could Li Cheng, a guy who only sought to live a comfortable life, willingly wade into this mess? He had intended to refuse immediately, but after thinking about it, he decided to see why S.H.I.E.L.D. wanted him and agreed to meet their representatives first.

"Tomorrow afternoon, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s people will be waiting for you at Starbucks," the bureau chief told Li Cheng the location.

"What time?" Li Cheng asked.

"One o'clock in the afternoon."

"Alright, I'll leave at two-thirty." Li Cheng spoke with the same charisma as Tony Stark.

The next day, at three-fifteen, Li Cheng arrived at Starbucks and immediately saw Phil Coulson, dressed in a suit, sitting by the window, looking at his watch.

"Sorry, I'm late," Li Cheng said, taking a seat across from Phil Coulson.

"No problem," Phil Coulson smiled gently. "I've gotten used to it after spending so much time with Tony Stark."

"So, what does S.H.I.E.L.D. want with me?" Li Cheng asked directly.

"I suddenly don't want to say," Phil Coulson stared at Li Cheng's face for two seconds, "You will definitely refuse, right? You deliberately arrived late for so long just to show you're not interested, isn't that so?"

"Then should I leave now?" Li Cheng was about to get up.

"Since you're already here, why not let me explain?" Phil Coulson said, "John Wick, this world is facing a threat..."

"Stop!" Li Cheng wasn't interested in hearing this, and besides, he already knew about the threats. "I agreed to this meeting because I wanted to know why you came looking for me."

"You don't seem surprised that we found you?"

"No, I'm very surprised, but surprise doesn't mean I must get the answer, does it?"

"Mr. Wick, you are a smart person, but I'm sorry, I can't tell you what we want you to do until you agree."

"If I don't know what I'm doing, there's no way I can agree."

"Alright, let me reveal a bit." Phil Coulson said, "S.H.I.E.L.D. has some rats infiltrating the organization, and we want to catch them. But our own people have reasons that make it inconvenient for them to act, so we want you to be the cat that catches the mice."

"So you want me to hunt snakes?" Li Cheng instantly understood Phil Coulson's purpose and stood up to say goodbye, "Sorry, I'm not interested in catching mice, goodbye."

"..." Phil Coulson felt caught off guard; he hadn't used many of his persuasions yet!

"Chief, he refused," Phil Coulson reported to Nick Fury.

"Is he dissatisfied with our conditions?" Nick Fury asked.

"No, he didn't even wait for me to propose any conditions," Phil Coulson said, "With his 'live and let live' attitude, I don't think there's anything that can attract him."

"This person is suitable, but if his heart isn't with us, he won't be diligent, nor will he keep secrets for us." Nick Fury thought for a moment and said, "Keep looking for other candidates."

"Yes, Chief."

"By the way, handle two more people when you have time."

"Who, Chief?"

"Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer," Nick Fury said casually, "We have too many powerful enemies to deal with, and these jumping clowns are always coming out to make trouble. We don't have the energy to waste on them; it's time to make them behave once and for all."

"Yes, Chief," Phil Coulson acknowledged and left.

...

On the boundless sea, there was a prison called the "Grave."

It was a legendary supermax prison where no one had ever successfully escaped.

The cells in this prison were different from those in other prisons; they were designed to be completely transparent, like a large glass enclosure, leaving the inmates with no privacy, and every move was visible.

Ivan Vanko sat in a glass enclosure, lying on the ground with a lazy expression.

"Stark, do you think locking me up here will let you rest easy?" Ivan Vanko's eyes shot hatred, "I will definitely get out of here, and then I will kill you!"

At this moment, a prison guard came with a rather slim man and used a key to open Ivan Vanko's glass enclosure.

"Hey! Buddy!" Ivan Vanko quickly spoke up, "Put him somewhere else; I prefer being alone!"

The prison guard ignored him and locked the slim man inside Ivan Vanko's glass enclosure.

Ivan Vanko glanced at the man but didn't say anything.

However, the slim man took the initiative to approach and whispered, "Someone is paying me to get you out."

"Who?" Ivan Vanko asked.

"Justin Hammer." The slim man said.

"Why does he want to save me?"

"He needs your skills, and you both have a common enemy."

"This is the Grave, what qualifies you to help me escape?"

"Just because I am called Leopold Fitz."

The start of the "meeting-style" was just a small joke about the current meeting culture.

"I can see it too. You, the great god, feel very suffocated in my small temple. So, I plan to send you to another unit for a change of scenery," the bureau chief said seriously. "Little John, that place isn't somewhere just anyone can get into. When you go there, make sure to perform well. Who knows, maybe one day I'll count on you to promote you."

"What unit?"

"The Bureau of Strategic Defense and Logistics of the Land." the bureau chief said.

..." Li Cheng's mind was instantly filled with shock. How could S.H.I.E.L.D. find him? Although the bureau chief said it was for him to gain experience, he was certain it was S.H.I.E.L.D. looking for him.

"I know the name is a bit long, but you can call them S.H.I.E.L.D.," the bureau chief thought Li Cheng's reaction was because of the ridiculous name.

S.H.I.E.L.D. was a troublesome whirlpool, and Li Cheng, who only sought a peaceful life, had no interest in getting involved in this mess. He initially wanted to refuse directly, but he decided to see why S.H.I.E.L.D. wanted him and agreed to meet with their representatives first.

"Tomorrow afternoon, the S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel will be waiting for you at Starbucks," the bureau chief told Li Cheng the location.

"What time?" Li Cheng asked.

"One o'clock in the afternoon."

"Alright, I'll leave at two-thirty," Li Cheng replied with a touch of Tony Stark's style.

The next day, at three fifteen, Li Cheng arrived at Starbucks and saw Phil Coulson, dressed in a suit, sitting by the window, looking at his watch.

"Sorry, I'm late." Li Cheng sat down across from Phil Coulson.

"It's okay." Phil Coulson smiled gently, "I'm used to it after spending so much time with Tony Stark."

"So, what does S.H.I.E.L.D. want with me?" Li Cheng asked straightforwardly.

"I suddenly don't feel like telling you anymore," Phil Coulson stared at Li Cheng's face for two seconds, "You would have refused anyway, right? You intentionally arrived late for so long just to show that you're not interested, isn't that so?"

"In that case, should I leave now?" Li Cheng was about to get up.

"Since you're already here, why don't you let me tell you?" Phil Coulson said, "John Wick, this world is facing threats..."

"Stop!" Li Cheng wasn't interested in this and already knew about any threats, "I agreed to meet because I want to know why you're looking for me."

"You don't seem surprised that we found you at all?"

"No, I'm very surprised, but being surprised doesn't mean I have to get an answer, does it?"

"Wick, you're a smart man, but unfortunately, I can't tell you what we want you to do until you agree."

"If I don't even know what I'm supposed to do, I'm even less likely to agree."

"Alright, how about I reveal a little bit?" Phil Coulson said, "There are some rats infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D., and we want to catch these rats. But our own people are unable to act for various reasons, so we're asking you to be the cat."

"So you want me to find snakes?" Li Cheng instantly understood Phil Coulson's intentions and stood up to bid farewell, "I'm sorry, I'm not interested in catching rats. Goodbye."

"..." Phil Coulson felt a bit caught off guard. He hadn't even had the chance to say many things!

"Sir, he refused," Phil Coulson reported to Nick Fury.

"Is he dissatisfied with our conditions?" Nick Fury asked.

"No, he didn't even wait for me to propose any conditions," Phil Coulson said, "Given his attitude of playing life all day long, I don't think there's anything that can attract him to us."

"This person is very suitable, but if his heart isn't with us, he won't work hard, and he won't keep our secrets for us," Nick Fury pondered for a moment and said, "Keep looking for other candidates."

"Yes, sir."

"By the way, handle two other people when you have time."

"Who, sir?"

"Ivan Vanco and Justin Hammer." Nick Fury said casually, "We have too many powerful enemies to deal with. These jumping clowns keep coming out to cause trouble, and we don't have the energy to deal with them. It's time to make them behave permanently."

"Yes, sir." Phil Coulson left to carry out his orders.

...

Above the boundless sea, there was a prison called the "Graveyard."

This was a legendary super prison where no one had ever successfully escaped.

The cells in this prison were very different from other prisons. They were designed entirely transparent, like a large glass enclosure. Prisoners here had no privacy, and every move was seen by others.

Ivan Vanco sat in one of the glass enclosures, lying on the ground, looking lazy.

"Stark, do you think locking me up in here will make you worry-free?" Ivan Vanco's eyes emitted hatred, "I will definitely get out of here, and when that happens, I will kill you!"

At this moment, a prison guard arrived with a rather small man and opened the door to Ivan Vanco's enclosure.

"Hey! Buddy!" Ivan Vanco hurriedly spoke, "Put him somewhere else. I prefer to be alone!"

The prison guard paid no attention to him and placed the small man in Ivan Vanco's glass enclosure.

Ivan Vanco glanced at the little man and said nothing.

However, the small man took the initiative to approach and whispered, "Someone paid me to get you out."

"Who?" Ivan Vanco asked.

"Justin Hammer." The little man said.

"Why does he want to save me?"

"He needs your expertise, and you both have a common enemy."

"This is the Graveyard. What makes you think you can get me out of here?"

"Just trust me. My name is Leo Breslin."
