Just a Regular Chapter, Nothing Happens Here

In my eagerness to perfect my form, I forgotten that I had the body of a six year old and passed out from exhaustion.

I awoke in my bed from the sun's rays beaming down on my face.

I almost jumped up like I usually do, but a wave of pain stopped my movements as I realized I pushed my body too hard last night.

I was lucky it was Saturday so I didn't have school allowing me to rest my sore muscles.

Sebastian walks into the room.

"I have prepared a cold bath infused with Epsom Salt sir." He says while handing me a tray with breakfast.

Slowly reaching out for the spoon on the tray I responded, "How about we go ahead and make that a hot bath?"

"Sorry sir, but a cold bath is recommended for your injuries. I have taken the liberty of providing you with two refreshing electrolytes that will also improve your recovery." He explains.

Taking a sip of the berry flavor sports drink, I can't help but feel a bit of relief as I try to think if I stay hydrated last night.

"Thank you Sebastian."

"Mr. Rose. I urge you to exert some caution when training to decrease these experiences. I'm sure you don't want to be bed- ridden again." He warns me while stepping back to give me a chance to eat.

He's right. I was just eager to move on with my training because I was waiting for significant progress in my training before revealing I was a genius at school.

I started school back in August and it was nearing the end of the year with little to show for it overall.

I felt like I needed to step up my efforts to prepare for the war.

But little mistakes like this only set me back, as I was sure that I would probably have to skip training today.

Finished with my breakfast, Sebastian carries me to my cold bath.

He failed to mention there was ice involved.

I struggle against him, but it's no use as he uses logic to assure me that this was the best possible way for a speedy recovery.

Slowly getting lowered in the ice water bath, my legs grow numb from the feeling.

As the rest of my body enters, a shiver runs down my spine, until I'm submerged up to my chest.

Shivering uncontrollably I try to reassure myself that I'll get used to it within a minute.

But as five minutes pass and it feels like it got colder, I begin to worry.

My breathing gets more rapid as I start to think over and over about the soreness leaving my body so I can leave the bath.

Next thing I know, a warm feeling zips through my body, and the cold no longer is a problem.

I start to submerge until my head is the only thing above the water as I begin to relax.

25 minutes later, Sebastian informs me that it's time to get out and steps forward to help me out the water.

Since I was focused on relaxing, I absentmindedly stood and walked out the bath, stretching.

I then realize that there was absolutely no soreness left and smile as I turn to Sebastian.

"Hey that did work. Good advice Sebastian."

I stop in my tracks as I see Sebastian frozen in place as he begins a scan of my body.

"The ice water bath was supposed to improve your recovery, which would put you at an estimated recovery time of a week.

A scan shows that you are operating at a hundred percent efficiency."

I stand there, my mind reeling at the information he's just given me as I try to process what helped me recover so quickly.

Then I understand, an idea forms in my head but before I get too excited, I need some confirmation from Sebastian.

"When you scanned me, were there any high readings of any kind within me?" I ask with a certain expectation.

He pauses before answering, "Yes. There seemed to be an increase in bioelectrical activity which is probably from the electrolyte you have ingested."

A smile spreads across my face as I just have had a revelation.

I finally understand the nature of my powers.

I could control electricity.

All those months were me trying to form lightning bolts from my hand and getting sad when I couldn't but the answer was there in my face all along.

Of course I couldn't form electricity in my hands, you couldn't form something from nothing.

"Sebastian, go grab different size batteries and meet me where I train outside."

While he's doing that, I rush upstairs to get dressed.

Within five minutes, he has everything from a AAA battery to a car battery sitting in a line on the table.

Picking up the AAA battery, I can feel the electric flowing within it.

I begin to think about how I should go about trying to extract the electricity.

After a minute of contemplating, I remembered how in the bath I was practically begging the electricity to relieve the soreness.

Not wanting to beg, I hold my hand over the battery and imagine the electric to come out.

After a brief moment, sparks come flying out that form a light blue ball the size of a pea in my hand.

My eyes grow wide with surprise as I realize that I'm holding electricity.

I can't contain my excitement as I start laughing manically that I've finally discovered something about my powers.

I stop laughing as I feel the electric ball start rotating in my hand.

I try to will it to remain still, but it only starts to rotate faster.

Panic begins to rise within me as my hand grows hot from how fast it's spinning.

Without thinking about it, I throw the electric ball to my right, as it buzzes to the decorative palm tree that was there at an insane speed.

As soon as it strikes the tree, a loud pop could be heard along with a small explosion causing me to drop to the ground.

I look up at the tree to see a hole within its material and a nasty burning smell.

Sebastian who was remaining quiet the entire time, steps forward.

"It is ill-advised to further with this as there is a high chance at you getting injured again." He cautions.

I roll my eyes, but take a look at the destruction just an AAA battery caused.

I decided to stay with only that size battery for now to minimize the damage.

A familiar Asian voice comes from behind me,

"Just when I thought I saw everything. You've become more and more interesting Mr. Rose."

In my haste, I forgot I had a guest.

I get up and turn to Mamoru, " Glad you enjoyed the show. I thought you were out handling business."

He shrugs as he sits down in the nearest chair, "It was concluded for now. Plus, I have a message from Sojiro." He says.

Confused I responded, "What does the head of the Shimada clan want to tell me?"

Just as quickly as those words leave my mouth, do I suddenly sense danger.

Before I can do anything, I feel cold steel pressed against my neck and a sharp pain of something slightly cutting into it.

My eyes grow wide as I realize that Mamoru has a knife to my throat with a dangerous glint in his eyes.

Sebastian takes a step forward and Mamoru shouts, "Don't move."

Sebastian pauses and waits, not knowing what to do.

Mamoru looks at me with a serious expression and narrowed eyes as he asks, "The Shimada have controlled the city of Kanezaka for many centuries. We've seen many generations come and go.

In those generations of people, not a single one knows the name of any who has ever been the head of the clan.

That information is only privy to select members.of the clan after years of service.

So how is it that a six year old knows this?"

I paled as I realized my mistake, one that's going to cost me a lot.

I had few choices out of this situation and none of them were looking good.

Taking a deep breath, I went for the best option.

"Believe it or not, I can see the future."
