CHAPTER 4

The cloudy skies could only amplify Yoongi's melancholy. He squeezed his eyes shut, wiping his tears with the sleeve of his suit jacket.

Namjoon and Hoseok remained silent. They each hugged Yoongi, sharing his pain.

After some time, the man calmed and he thanked his members for dealing with his grief.

This was no chore for those two, however. They loved Yoongi dearly. You could always tell by how brotherly they are to one another.

You and Jimin soon peered from the entrance to see how things were going.

You were relieved to see that Yoongi too had a great support system.

"After the burial, I'm going to get ready for my flight."

"Right." Namjoon pursed his lips. "Your tour is this week."

Yoongi closed his eyes, trying to visualize all of the Armies who he will be happy to see there. "Yes, it is…"

After a moment longer of solitude, Yoongi and the others turn their heads to hear Jimin calling out to them. "They're going to move him to the burial site now!"

"Welp," Namjoon fixes his jacket on himself. "Showtime."

You and Yoongi returned to Namjoon's car.

Jimin went to meet Taehyung and the others at Jin's car in the parking lot.

When you got in the car, you noticed that Yoongi was too consumed by the funeral to close your door—not that you were expecting him to, understandably.

He buckled his seatbelt in, staring through the windshield at the rest of the visitors going into their vehicles.

Leaning forward, you rub his shoulder whispering, "I'm so sorry, Yoongi."

He nods but doesn't turn to glance at you.

Leaning back in your seat, you fiddle your thumbs.

Namjoon soon came inside the car. Exhaling, he takes one look at Yoongi before switching on the ignition.

Oddly, observing Yoongi and Namjoon's temperament makes you tense. You didn't see them like this on regular occasions. It wouldn't make sense either way since there wouldn't have been anything sad to attend or think about.

The drive to the cemetery was silent. No music played. The only thing keeping you sane is the sound of the engine accelerating when the leader pressed his foot on the gas, and the humming of the motors keeping up with its speed.

Soon enough you arrive.

The sooner the burial is over with, the better.

Yoongi was the first to depart. The funeral van had already transported Min Ah's body to its designated burial place.

You wait for Namjoon by the main path, examining his face. He looked very concerned like a father of six.

He looks at you as he shuts his door, pushing the lock on his key fob. "(Y/N)"

You weren't expecting Namjoon to say anything to you. "Y-Yes?"

Walking up to you, the blonde of a man slipped his key into his slacks. "Keep an eye on Yoongi for me while he's away, please?"

You didn't expect such a request. Happily, you nod. "Of course!"

The man ran his hand through his hair muttering to himself, "I can't stand to see him like this…imagine him being in New York."

You didn't reply but agreed with Namjoon's concerns.

The two of you made your ways to the burial location. An average sized group was also standing around the dug up pit.

The men responsible for lowering the casket each took one side, lifting it off the ground.

You managed to make it in time, but was caught in the back. You were too short to see past everyone's shoulders.

Namjoon took your hand, leading you to the front. Yoongi was there, silently watching with locked eyes on the men tending to Min Ah's casket.

They finally lowered him into the hole. They began plugging the space up with dirt, until it was caked to the brim. They patted the earth's surface, making sure that it was sturdy and air tight.

"May he rest in peace." The representative bowed his head.

Everyone followed in unison, repeating, "…may he rest in peace."

You glance at Yoongi, wondering if he had any last words to offer. But he had none.

Taehyung handed Yoongi a bouquet of flowers. He gladly accepted it, stepping up to the memorial stone. "May you rest in peace. I'll always love you." After, he took his leave.

A few others left a smaller set of flowers on this tombstone and left.

"(Y/N)," Taehyung approaches you, giving you a hug. "Thanks for coming. Sorry I didn't say anything to you earlier."

You smile kindly at Tae. "It's okay. There's been a lot going on so it's nothing personal."

"…yeah." The sharp man looks past the crowd at Yoongi who ambled to the exit down the path. "I'm just worried for my hyung."

"All of you are worried for him. I don't blame you."

"I asked (Y/N) to watch over him while he's away. He's going to definitely need someone by his side while he's on tour."

Taehyung nodded. "Agreed."

The rest of the members grouped around you and Namjoon, walking down the path to the exit.

Jungkook slipped his hands into his pockets, questioning what everyone planned to do for the evening.

"I wouldn't mind having some dinner." Taehyung said.

"Same here." The rest of them agreed.

"Hey, hyung." Jungkook called out. "Are you interested in going to dinner?"

Yoongi faced all of you, his eyes trailing off to the side. "…no thanks. I need to get ready for my flight."

The younger members frowned. "Okay…"

"Let me take you home now so you can get some rest." Namjoon invites you to follow him back to the car. "I'll meet you guys at the usual spot if y'all want to go and eat."

"Sounds good." Jin pulls out his keys. "We'll see you there."

After that, you went your separate ways.
