In his final moments, death felt like a gentle surrender, a gradual detachment from the world that had once held such significance. It was like slipping into a profound slumber, where the boundaries of reality blurred, and time lost its meaning.

There was a curious mix of peace and trepidation, as if the soul was being gently lifted from its earthly vessel, floating towards an unknown horizon.

Colours seemed to fade, and sounds softened to whispers as the senses dimmed one by one.

Familiar faces, memories, and dreams flickered like distant stars in a vast night sky, becoming mere echoes of the life that was once lived.

His body felt weightless, almost ethereal, as if merging with the very essence of existence. In the embrace of death, there was no pain, no suffering...

It was a tender release from the burdens of mortality, allowing the spirit to soar free like a bird finally liberated from its cage.

There was a sensation of merging with something greater, an all-encompassing energy that transcended comprehension, offering solace and a sense of belonging to the cosmic tapestry.

As the last breath was drawn, there was a fleeting moment of clarity, a profound understanding of the impermanence of life and the interconnectedness of all things.

It was a bittersweet farewell to the world, as the soul embarked on a journey to parts unknown, leaving behind the tangible realm to explore the mysteries of eternity.

And so, in those final moments, death was not the end, but a beginning – a profound transformation into the boundless unknown, where the essence of the departed soul would forever leave an indelible mark on the fabric of the universe.

"My existence in the universe might have been insignificant to the grand scale of totality itself, my birth might not even of mattered...but...in my life...my brief existence in reality...

I brought Joy to those I love, I gave them smiles on days that otherwise would be spent in sadness or loneliness...or worse depression...

In my brief existence...I was there...and I was appreciated...and it's those moments that mattered...because they belonged to me, so whatever being brought this world into being evil or good...I thank you...

I thank even if my thanks are not seen as anything but insignificant...

And most of all, in my final moments, I was able to spend the day with someone truly special, someone kind, and intelligent...and because I existed I was able to make her day...

A person I'm honoured to call a fri..."

"A Friend, I too am honoured to call you my friend..."

Death answered beside him, her warm smile ever-present as she held his hand. A hand so warm and full of life...

"Yes! My friend...thank you...and goodbye."

And with that, he departed with death in tow, to a place Unkown.

But to mark their friendship, that though lasted for but a single day...would last until the end of time and space itself.

He left her his mark, an X-shaped tattoo that was used to mark him as a slave but in fact, he used to better himself and to remind him how far he came from where he was.

(Thousands of years in the future...)

The day was like any other in the quaint little town, and the ramen shop bustled with its usual customers.

But amidst the lively chatter and the savoury aroma of noodles, an unusual figure caught the eye of those present.

A beautiful lady, draped in a gothic outfit that seemed to exude an air of mystery, gracefully entered the establishment.

With long, flowing raven hair and eyes that gleamed like polished onyx, she carried an air of elegance that seemed otherworldly. Her presence commanded attention, and a hushed silence fell over the ramen shop as the customers discreetly glanced in her direction.

The cook, a middle-aged man with a friendly smile and a bandana tied around his forehead, greeted her warmly. "Welcome to our humble ramen shop, miss. What can I get you?"

The lady in gothic attire smiled graciously. "I'll have your special ramen, please," she replied in a melodious voice that seemed to carry a hint of ethereal enchantment.

The cook obligingly got to work, expertly preparing her order. As she waited, she removed her leather gloves, revealing an X-shaped tattoo on her right hand.

Her fingers gently caressed the mark, a fond expression crossing her face as if remembering something pleasant from a distant memory.

Curiosity got the better of the cook, and he couldn't help but ask, "That's an interesting tattoo you've got there, miss. Is there a story behind it?"

The lady looked up, her captivating gaze meeting the cook's eyes. "Oh, indeed, there is," she replied, a mysterious smile playing on her lips. "It's a mark that holds significance to me—a reminder of a special friendship."

The cook chuckled, thinking she was making a playful jest. "A reminder, huh? Well, it certainly adds to your enigmatic aura."

"Enigmatic?" she echoed, a hint of amusement in her voice. "Perhaps so."

As the cook returned with her order, he placed the steaming bowl of ramen before her. "Here you go, miss..."

"...Death..."

"...Enjoy your meal," he said with a warm smile.

"Thank you," she said softly, the gentle timbre of her voice enveloping the atmosphere like a delicate melody.

She took a moment to savour the aroma, and then she picked up her chopsticks, gracefully twirling them between her slender fingers.

With a serene smile, she began to enjoy the delectable ramen, relishing each mouthful with a sense of appreciation.

The cook watched her with intrigue, still wondering if her claim of being Death was merely an amusing roleplay.

But something in her aura seemed to hint at a deeper truth, an intangible connection to something beyond mortal comprehension.

As she finished her meal, she set down her chopsticks and pushed the empty bowl forward. "That was truly delicious," she complimented, her smile warm and genuine.

The cook beamed with pride. "I'm glad you liked it, miss."

With a graceful nod, she rose from her seat, preparing to leave. As she donned her gloves once more, the X-shaped tattoo on her right hand caught the light, shimmering faintly as if imbued with a subtle mystique.

"Until we meet again," she said softly, her eyes holding an enigmatic gleam.

"Sure thing, miss. You're welcome back anytime," the cook replied with enthusiasm.

The lady known as Death nodded, her gaze lingering for a moment longer before she turned and gracefully walked out of the ramen shop, leaving behind an air of intrigue and wonder in her wake.

As the shop returned to its lively buzz, the cook couldn't help but wonder about the encounter he had just experienced.

He shook his head with a chuckle, deciding that it was simply one of those peculiar moments that made life in the little town all the more interesting.

If granted the opportunity to meet Death and have her answer one question, what inquiry would you pose to her, knowing that her response could unlock the mysteries of existence, mortality, or the universe itself?

There's one thing in this story I want someone to pick up on about Jayden...
