Allison and Malia stared at each other, one too angry to say anything else while the other was too stunned to say anything.
Allison knew the truth of everything Malia said, even surprised to find out why she felt like she didn't, but hearing Malia say it with such emotion behind it made it stick even harder.
And that was when she realized what was happening.
The sick spirit was flooding her head with negative thoughts and basically inflicting her with down syndrome, severely weakening her psyche to the point that she just gave up.
The moment she realized this, the feeling of despair that she would lose to the Nogitsune and have her personality erased stopped scaring her and the Nogitsune noticed as she saw it pause its actions and look at her with what she would call a surprised face if she could actually see it's real facial expressions.
She looked back at Malia and saw the freely flowing tears on her face and that made her truly understand what had just happened.
She'd hurt Malia again. More than she did before.
And even after everything that had happened between them these last few days, Malia still cared so much for her to cry for her.
"NO NO NO NO NO!"
"YOU'RE MINE! YOU CAN'T DEFEAT ME!"
The 'thing' in front of her started screaming hysterically and shouting wildly at her, but for the first time since this whole thing started, Allison didn't feel a speck of fear when she looked at the maddened spirit.
It grabbed her harshly by her shoulders and roared in her face and then tried biting down on her neck… well at least it tried, because Malia caught it by the nape of its neck and drove her clawed fingers into its spine and used it to hoist it up before throwing it far away.
"Malia—"
"Save for after we deal with scarface over there."
"You think… you can kill ME? ME? I'M A THOUSAND YE—"
THWACK.
"I was wondering where you guys were."
There the Nogitsune was, lying face first to the ground with its head being held by a blood tail.
Tristan looked down at the poor ancient fox under his foot, struggling in futility to fight him off.
"Are you girls done here, let's go back." Tristan said, meanwhile trapping the Nogitsune against the floor with his blood then covering the entire thing in a blood sarcophagus.
"Just how are you here, Trist?" Malia asked, surprised at his presence in Allison's mind.
"Got a little bit of practice with mind walking." Tristan simply replied and the world around them started fading away.
It was a bit harder for him to explain but all it boiled down to was a one-time experience that stuck. All he needed to do was understand how he had done it with the possessed Allison before and reenact the feeling.
They were still in the Argents House with only ten minutes gone from when Malia had entered into Allison's mindscape.
""Allison!"" Her parents were frantic as they tried to make sure that she was okay. Her sudden possession had taken them by surprise and it had dawned on them that they didn't know what to do when the Nogitsune successfully possessed Allison.
Allison extracted herself from her parents' worried embrace and turned to her two friends who'd been with her during the scariest time of her life.
She didn't need to think of anything as she threw herself into their embrace, profusely crying and apologizing, her hands wrapped tightly around their necks that her feet could not reach the ground which made Tristan support her by wrapping one of his hands over her waist.
He could smell how both of their emotions were practically washing off each other – something anyone could tell with the tears on both of their crying faces.
It took a while – a few minutes – for Allison to get her emotions under control and wipe the tears from her eyes.
As for Malia and Allison, there was still tension between them both unlike before, there was now a feeling of understanding between them.
Tristan was the one who tabled the current situation after everyone had settled down. He had compelled a few people on his way back and Argents men were already dealing with the bodies which left Chris to deal with the Sheriff when he came asking around.
"You know we can't continue ignoring the biggest issue after this. We need to decide what to do with the Nogitsune now. It's being held at bay now, but I doubt Allison's mental fortitude will last long enough to keep him down."
Chris and Victoria looked at each other with ugly and troubled faces, knowing what should be done but none having the courage to suggest it.
They had been raised a certain way, and even if they were more neutral towards supernatural creatures after what happened with Gerard, they were still Hunters.
Making the decision to turn their daughter into a supernatural creature went against the last thread of Hunter blood in them as well as everything they stood for.
"You know we don't have much time after this." Tristan pressed on, stressing just how close they are to permanently losing their daughter if they failed to do something now.
They had exhausted their options, which basically had no choice, so now they were forced to pick one of the two presented. Either be willing to change Allison to a were-creature or be willing to kill her and hopefully do away with the Nogitsune in the process.
"What would you have us do? You think we haven't thought hard on this?" Chris questioned rhetorically. "We're Hunters, and she's our daughter – our only child. Do you know what you are telling us to do?"
"Saving your daughter, that's goddamned what." Malia snapped. The glare she leveled at the two older Argent would have made the average person buckle in their steps.
Victoria turned to Allison and tenderly grabbed her daughter's hands while trying and failing to hold in a sniffle.
"Tell me, what do you really want to do? Tell us what you want us to do."
She grabbed her mother's hand strongly in both surprise and shock as this was the first time she had seen such a vulnerable look. Her mother had always been the perfect picture of strength and composure to Allison, even more than her father, so seeing her mother like this was a first for the young Huntress.
"I don't know, mom. I don't want to lose any of you, and I'm scared." She cried.
Victoria held both of her face and asked her in all seriousness. "Are you sure you want to do this? Remember, there will be no going back once this is done. You will still be Allison, my dear daughter, but that's not all you'll be. You will be living in two different worlds."
Chris turned away, not trusting the decision he'll come to if he continued watching his wife and daughter baring their hearts out.
Allison, after a short moment of thinking, nodded her head resolutely. "Yeah, I'll do it."
Victoria shook her roughly and rebuked her in a stern voice. "Is that how we taught you? Say it with confidence. You're an Argent."
Allison nodded her head and replied more confidently. "I'll do it." She then turned to her dad who was having a hard time looking at her.
"Dad, I'll be fine. I'm not moving out for college yet." They both chuckled amidst a torrent of emotions.
Chris nodded. "You're right. It's just… it's nothing." Behind Allison, the Hunter family looked at Tristan and Malia who were waiting patiently for them to come to the only decision they could.
"So which one of you will do it? I won't let it be either Derek or Satomi." Chris asked after taking a deep breath. His was a lot harder than it had any right to be.
The two teens looked at each other as they silently conversed to come to a decision but Malia quickly shook her head while exhaling a frustrated sigh.
"Just do it, Trist. It's probably for the best. I might be an Alpha now but I don't feel I'm up for turning someone into a werecoyote."
Tristan shrugged, not arguing with Malia about her reason. "Are you guys okay with that?"
Faced with the stares of everyone around her, Allison put on a tough front and nodded resolutely. "I'm fine with that, Tristan."
Tristan stepped forward towards her and Allison gulped. A wave of nervousness slowly washed over her.
"Relax. It's nothing bizarre." He assured her, earning a pair of raised brows in return and the silent question of 'how did you know that?'
"Trust me."
Though she was unsure of what that meant, she nevertheless nodded and prodded him to continue.
Tristan bit his wrist and brought it to her mouth. "Drink. I'll explain everything later." Even with more questions, she silently accepted and drank the blood with a huge grimace on her face.
Tristan drew her close and before anyone could say anything, he bit down on her neck and let his venom seep into her veins.
Giving Allison his blood like he'd done with Boyd was to confirm something, and soon he did as he could feel a slowly growing connection with the girl in his arms – just like with Boyd.
Now, it was time to finally get rid of that damned fox.
