The red-haired mountain dwarf who was the spitting image of my friend frowned when she noticed me. "Ye brought a human with ye, Caelestis?" 

"I have," Caelestis answered.

Was it just me or did Caelestis sound like she didn't have a choice in the matter?

"I'm surprised this one isn't in chains or locked behind a cage…" The corner of Dalmatia's mouth twitched as if she was trying not to grin. "Isn't that how the Lūmen usually treat humans?" 

"Wait," I frowned, "What?" 

"The Lūmen doesn't get along with humans on account of your warmongering ways," Liara chimed in. 

"You're half-human," I reminded her.

My betrothed just shrugged. "I've got pointy ears. That gives me a pass." 

"Sure," I sighed.
