Blazing through the test

"…" The old man stood watching, stunned.

"Wow, you completed it on your first try, that's wonderful".

"Yeah". Endrick waved his hand. "The next one".

"For completing your first test, you have been rewarded with 20XP".

Instantly, Endrick's game interface lit up.

"So, your next test is the Juggling test, I expect this one to be a more daunting challenge to you".

"For this test, you are expected to juggle the ball 20 times".

"This is in no way an easy feat so don't feel discouraged if you fail it during your first couple of tries, it is completely normal…" The old man's jaw dropped.

While he spoke, Endrick already started juggling the ball.

The NPC football player counted the juggles.

"7…, 8…, 9…, 10…"

Endrick had a nonchalant look on his face as he effortlessly juggled the ball.

"16…, 17…"

At this point, having gotten bored already, Endrick added tricks.

He flicked the ball up before performing an around the world trick, after which he kicked it up and allowed it perfectly fall on his right lap as he did a knee juggle which was quickly followed by 2 consecutive head juggles.

Endrick finally caught the ball with his hands, he flashed a smile at the old man.

"22…" The NPC called the last juggle.

"…" The old man's jaws remained dropped.

It took some time before he was able to react.

"Wow, t-that was unexpected".

"Well, congratulations for completing your second test, you have been rewarded with 50XP".

The game interface lit up again.

The old man finally regained his composure. "The 3rd test is the dribbling test". This time, he smirked. "If the first 2 were relatively easy for you, this time, I am confident, this one would be hard".

"I would bet my money that you won't complete it on the first try".

"Oh, you're serious?" Endrick was intrigued.

"Bet 100XP if you're serious".

"…" The old man looked at him speechlessly.

"You understand that if you don't complete it the first time, you will be at a deficit of minus 30XP right?"

"Yes".

"Well, if it's ok with you, I can bet".

The next moment, 2 more NPC football players appeared. "For the 3rd test, dribbling with the ball, you are to dribble past these 3 NPCs".

Well, Endrick had to admit that if this was his previous world, this would have indeed been a hard test but definitely not in this world. In this world, from the little that he had seen, he knew that the football standards were far below his era.

Dribbling through 3 NPCs, he thought he could do it.

'If I can do it in a world cup final and score, what is a VR game?' He smirked.

He dropped the ball and placed 1 leg on it, then he sharply looked at the 3 NPCs who also looked straight back at him.

"Your time starts now".

Endrick kicked the ball forward.

Instantly, the nearest NPC pounced forward in a bid to win the ball, this was when Endrick placed his right leg forward.

Misplacing his intentions, the NPC reacted as programmed in it and stretched out it's left leg to intercept, leaving a visible opening between its legs in the process.

'Hehe…'

Endrick gave this brother a cheeky nutmeg as he fell on his butt, stunned.

The first NPC was effortlessly eliminated.

The 2nd NPC was not deterred by the plight of the first though as it charged forward in a more strategic manner. Inclining its body sideways, its intention was to block off his options but who was Endrick? He was a world cup winner.

Bypassing this strategy was too easy for him, Sergio Ramos, the legendary Real Madrid defender had employed this same strategy for the great Lionel Messi countless times in his career but Messi mostly came out on top.

All Endrick did was take a line from the trick books of his football idol.

He suddenly slowed down his running speed, offsetting the NPC then he executed an easy la croqueta, ruthlessly eliminating the NPC in the process.

Even more stunned than the first, the NPC could not react, he remained standing motionlessly as Endrick blitzed past him.

This NPC was completely obliterated.

As for the last NPC, his fate was similar, Endrick simply flicked the ball forward before outpacing him to get it a few seconds later.

"…!" A certain old man's jaws were falling off his face.

"Ahem…" He coughed.

"You completed it". His voice was much tamer now.

"Yes". Endrick chuckled.

"Yes".

"Another NPC will appear at the goalposts as the goalkeeper".

"Yeah". Endrick smiled.

"Show me". The old man smiled back.

"Ok". Endrick picked the ball but he suddenly paused. "Betting?"

"Ahem…, I'll pass this time". The old man rubbed his nose with a smile.

"Ok". Endrick chuckled.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Endrick deliberately did this to avoid it becoming too ridiculous, despite this, the old man's eyes still twitched as he looked at him like he was a monster.

He soon smiled again though. "Congratulations, you've completed the test".
