52.2 Reunion

Bolting upright as the thought of immediate danger passed through my mind, I felt a strange tightness in my chest as I sat face-to-face with a worried Lise as she hovered over me like a mother hen on crack.

"Thank goodness! I thought... I thought...."

Oh, fvcking shvt... Did I collapse in front of her? I probably did, didn't I... Great... more guilt to add onto the pile of stupid mistakes I made.

Ignoring the blooming pain radiating from the pit of my stomach, I placed a hand on Lise's head, ruffling her hair like the old times in an attempt to calm my favorite brunette down. She was probably over herself with worry looking after fragile old me. And looking at where we were now, I'd say I was out for a decent while. I didn't even know how long I was out the first time.

"I'm alive, Lise. Don't worry," I smiled through the dull pain. It's normal. Mind over matter, Rouge.
