Ch. 7 Part 1

YanZhi noticed that master Zhang was on guarded and skeptical against him " hehe.... I've been told that a lot everywhere I go " YanZhi said to master Zhang in a tone which says ' I mean no hostility to you ' before master Zhang let down his guard a little bit

" do you have more of this item in hand?" master Zhang got straight to business and asked

" including the one with you I have only got three of these items in hand, master Zhang knows better than me that it's very hard to get hands on items used for crafting " YanZhi replied in a polite matter with a serious tone

" aiya~ mater Jun is right... it's indeed hard. Will you be willing to sell me all three? I'll offer you a good price for them" master Zhang pleaded

" since master Zhang is offering a good price, I'll leave them to you " master Zhang beamed in happiness as YanZhi passed the crystals to him.

" what do you say two hundred taels for each item, I'll offer you six hundred taels for all three pieces " master Zhang offered and YanZhi nodded in satisfactory

" it's a deal then " said YanZhi

Master Zhang took out a box from a small pocket space pouch, he opened the box and passed it to YanZhi. YanZhi used his qi to weigh the silvers when it was passed to him... he nodded when he was sure the silver was up to the amount agreed and put the box into his space pocket using the ring as a cover up. He helped Xiao Ling up from his seat

" we'll be on our way then, it was nice doing business with you master Zhang " YanZhi cupped his hands and said as master Zhang sighed

" master Jun I know it's hard to get these items... but please do make sure to sell them to me when you get your hands on them, I'll always offer you a good price " master Zhang pleaded

" I'll will.... master Zhang, I'll bring them all here when I do get my hands on them " Master Zhang's heart felt at ease hearing YanZhi assure him.

YanZhi followed the disciple along with Xiao Ling and Yue as he led them to the gate of the school...

" master Jun... I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you earlier, please do forgive this short sighted student" the disciple pleaded and said anxiously which made YanZhi see him in a different way

" what do I call this little brother? " asked YanZhi

" Cheng Lin " he replied

" I haven't put what happened in heart, but next time do know how to talk to strangers.... little brother Lin hasn't yet to see the whole world, not everyone will be patient like I was " YanZhi advised him

" I thank master Jun for his advice, little me will keep that in mind " Cheng Lin cupped his hands and said politely making Yue sneered at him... he could feel Yue's hostility at him which made him felt bad more for he knew it was his fault.

" I hope sister Yue will also forgive this little junior " he cupped his hands to her and said in a sad tone making Yue sneered coldly

" Yue?! " YanZhi scolded

" hmp... I'll forgive you, but next time I'll beat you up mercilessly " Yue warned making Cheng Lin shuddered at her words and smiled awkwardly.

YanZhi took out a folded book from his sleeve intending to give it to Cheng Lin but Cheng Lin shook his head and hands in refusal. " no, no, no master Jun that looks like a martial arts book... you can't give something this valuable to me " Cheng Lin anxiously said

" little brother Lin take it... it's my gratitude to you for your help. It's a martial arts technique called the " Tai Chi Palm " it's of no worth to me but I think it's a technique which will suit you. You shouldn't refuse an elder so bluntly " YanZhi said smiling making it hard for Cheng Lin to refuse...

" Thank you master Jun for your generosity, I'll practice it well " he cupped his hands in respect as he watched them walk into the crowd.

Cheng Lin hurriedly ran to his master in the pavilion

" master, master, master " he called out on top of his lungs making master Zhang glared at him in anger

" why are you shouting when I'm right here... " master Zhang scolded

" master look... master Jun gave this book to me " Cheng Lin happily said and gave the book to master Zhang.... master Zhang eyed the book skeptical before he opened and started flipping through, his eyes almost popped out of his sockets as he flipped through the book. From the neat calligraphy to the well drawn pictures which makes it very easy to understand the technique... but master Zhang was at lost as he had never head of such a technique in the whole dynasty, his school was a small time school but he had friends all around even in the capital so he'd hear about this technique if it was practiced else where.

" Tai Chi Palm? " he felt his heart pumped hard making him over excited... he calmed himself down and stared at Cheng Lin

" why would he give you such a unique technique? " master Zhang asked

" master Jun said it was worthless to him and gave it to me as a thank you gift " Cheng Lin happily answered making master Zhang almost choked on his words...

" this is worthless to him? Lin'er go and start practicing this from now and don't slack... if he could give out something so valuable it's to test you, maybe he'll give you more if you do well in practicing this technique and making it yours... don't let master down " Master Zhang instructed and Cheng Lin excused himself to go start practicing

" find out about this master Jun, and do so discreetly.... " a shadow dressed in ninja clothes cupped his hands and disappeared after master Zhang ordered,

" ai~ who's this master Jun and where did he come from? calling such a powerful technique worthless " master Zhang stroked his white beard and sighed

YanZhi took out their baskets from his pocket space and they carried them on their backs, they walked into one of the famous restaurants in the county owned by a wealthy family surnamed Wang.

" brother Jun you brought preys to me today " shopkeeper Li of the restaurant said happily when he saw YanZhi. They placed the baskets of preys down and greeted shopkeeper Li and he paid them twenty taels for all three baskets, they took a seat and ordered for food in the restaurant. They ordered dishes like rice, vegetable dishes, meat dishes, buns and a tea set..... half way through their foods YanZhi caught Xiao Ling stealing glaces at him making him pounder

" is something on my face little wife? " he asked

" no... I wondering if you haven't noticed people watching us since we arrived in town and even now as we eat, it's making me uncomfortable " Xiao Ling stated

" you don't need to bother with others... bees will gather around honey and flowers, and so do humans... they're attracted to what they deem beautiful and attractive so you don't need to pay heed to them. I'm used to their looks and you will too " YanZhi focused on eating not minding the stares on them

" Xiang Gong will give me too a technique to practice? " Xiao Ling asked in excitement

" no " he felt his whole being crumbled as YanZhi refute plainly making Xiao Ling almost shed tears

" but why? you gave that Cheng Lin guy a technique for free and I'm sure Yue also have a bunch of techniques given to her.. right Yue? " he pouted like a child who's candy was taken away from him and asked Yue and she nodded in agreement... YanZhi pinched his cheek helplessly making him seem like an old man wronging a child.

" little wife don't take my denial in a bad way, for now I want you to focus on cultivation and absorbing qi... you can't compare Yue to yourself. You are already good in combat but Yue just started practicing techniques about two months now "

" really? only two months? " Xiao Ling asked shocked

" Yes mistress, I started cultivation when master's body was still that of a child but I only started practicing techniques when master returned from his journey. " Yue answered him which reassured him

" so you see... she can't compare to you, just focus on only cultivation for some few years "
