Greatest war if not the worst

Eight days before the war:

“So- you’re always doing this alone?” Said the girl-

Layns walked ahead of her-

Through the grass-

It was nearly midday but the breeze was strong.

So the sun didn’t feel that bad today.

“Yeah.”

So warm, so tranquil-

“So technically I’m your first party member?”

“You are, yes. We’re not an official party yet though. We’d need to find another member before we could call ourselves a party.”

“But you don’t go through the trouble, right?” A smile.

Some wild porcupine passed them by, not quite even attempting to acknowledge the two as a threat.

Layns shrugged- “Not really.”

They walked-

There wasn’t much to talk about.

Layns was a novice-

Elaine was also a novice but had more experience than Layns.
