S2: Chapter 8

You remain quiet and memories of your school days start flooding in. When you weren't the extroverted and famous Y/N, when you were just a simple girl, who used to think a lot. 

"Y/N? Oh my god.. Why do you think so much? Just live. Live like there is no damn tomorrow." your senior, Eliza said. It was a warm evening. The sky took the shade of the brightest pink with the clouds standing out, colored in an orange hue. "I just can't stop thinking. There are too many what-ifs in my head. I just can't seem to get them out." you say, sighing.

"Haha, that is so much like me.." she said. "Like you? That is im-possi-ble. How can someone like you ever be an overthinker?" you ask in disbelief. She sighed gently and spoke with an understanding smile, "It's really simple and that. is. a. fact. Y/N, listen to me carefully. Learn to live in the present. Don't think about your past or even your future. What is to come, will come..."

You come back to reality after remembering that one painful yet so inspiring flashback. 

"What's the matter, Nevil?" Mavis asks. "Nothing, just remembered something painful." you answer.

"...Alright. You should go and have dinner now." 

"Yes, and today, you will join me. Inform me if anyone questions you." you say with a grin.

Mavis remained quiet but you noticed some form of gratefulness in her eyes.

After dinner:

"I'll take my leave, Nevil." Mavis said. "Good night!" you wish her.

"It's been a while since I thought about Eliza. I was really sad when she..." you say with a dismal expression." "Live in the present Y/N. Live in the present. Now to read more about this place." you say getting yourself together. "I never expected all this to be so complicated. I need to tell all this to Y/B and Tsuki. And also who was that guy? Why do I always get the weird creeps?" you think sinking your head in the pillow. 

"C/N and Mavis are from the same city. Maybe they are cousins. But revealing C/N's location to anyone would be dangerous. And also Mavis told me Nevil's father and Alaric's father had a fight. On what reason though?.... Wait, I can just ask Nevil's father! I mean he is 'my father' and he would tell me if I asked right? Yeah probably. I'll ask him tomorrow. Let's just read this book for sometime." you think.

After a few minutes, you fall asleep while holding the book in your hands. 

The next morning:

"Miss? Miss?" you hear a voice. Slowly opening your eyes, you find Mavis next to you. "Hey, Mavis. Good morning." you say, stretching your limbs. Mavis takes the book from the the bed and keeps it in the bookshelf.

"Actually, its good afternoon." She says with a small laugh. 

You smile and get up from the bed. "I need to ask my father some questions today." You say to Mavis, while she dresses you up.

"Oh, what a coincidence. Master wants to meet you too, as his servants informed me." 

"Okay.." You walk out of your house and find Y/B on bank of the pond in front of you.

You hear him sigh and walk over to him. "What's the matter?" you asK. 

Y/B flinches and turns around, sighing again. "I miss everyone." He says, in a low voice.

"Mostly Mom, and dad.." He says, "And Akari too.."

You look at him with a silly smirk, "I have to tell you something."

"What is it?" He asks. 

"Mavis, could you please give us a moment?" "Sure, Nevil."

"I met C/N yesterday at the hunt." 

"You what?! Are you serious? Woahh!!" He shouts and attracts the attention of everyone passing by. "Keep quiet, you dumbo." you curse. "After I got tired, we decided to rest. While Mavis went to search for water, I wanted to roam around and then suddenly I fell into a deep hole.. When I reached at the bottom, there was hay to break the fall and it was really dark. I walked around and found C/N. His name is Alaric, the male alpha of the west city. He recognized me instantly. Y/B.. Nevil's father and Alaric's father had a bad fight. I got to know this from Mavis, the girl I just sent away. She is a member of the royal family of the West City, so she is likely related to Alaric. Probably cousin. Real name, Elowen." You whisper everything in one go. 

"Will he be able to understand everything I just said?" you think.

"Okay okay, hold on. You're saying C/N is not the only member of the royal family left? There are more?" Y/B whispers back.

"Yes, there might be except Mavis. I haven't told her about C/N, because revealing C/N's whereabouts to anyone might be too risky." "This means, the old man he met was a bit wrong about him. He said C/N is the last surviving member of the West City. Maybe he also didn't know much." Y/B says. 

"That's not important. We need to find out about what caused the fight between the two cities." you hit him on the hand.

"Ouch.. But why?" he asks. 

"So that I can resolve the fight. If these two cities had a nasty fight, then my city soldiers are doubtlessly still finding the surviving members of the royal family. Alaric and Elowen are in danger." you say. 

"Just how much time do you have to interpret all this?" He asks.

"Well, there are no studies and no school. So why not USE the time, unlike someone over here?" 

"Excuse me?" Y/B raises his eyebrows.

"What do you even do all day? Shouldn't you return to your city now?" You ask. "Yeah yeah, this guy's father has been calling him back. But I don't want to leave you here. It was really lonely there. The female alpha is so bleh..." Y/B says gagging. 

You laugh out and say, "If you act like this, the people will probably think you changed and you might get into trouble. Which reminds me, what kind of a guy was Orson? Was that the name?" you ask.

"Yep, so all I know, nobody found me acting weird or anything. I am guessing Orson was kind of like me." Y/B says, with closed eyes as if trying to remember something.
