Martial Soul

Chapter 5 Martial Soul.

"Mom's food is the best!" Yuan Long said that while patting his stomach after eating till he could eat no more.

"Yuan'er when did you start to eat this much? Till yesterday you only ate one fourth of what you ate today" Mei gong asked her son in a concerned manner.

"His body probably needs more nutrients now. Do not forget our son is a soul master now." Lin Tian told his wife while shrugging.

"Mother, am I bothering you?" Yuan Long asked his mother while looking a bit down cast.

"How could my Yuan'er be a bother?!?!. If it's for you I would willingly spend all my time in the kitchen." Mei Gong replied to her son immediately while looking a bit flustered from her son's reaction.

Lin Tian found his wife's predicament to be funny and could not stop himself from bursting into laughter.

"Hmph" Mei gong pouted while sending her husband a sharp glance seemingly not enjoying what was happening.

"Mother, I was just joking." Yuan Long told his mother with an innocent expression on his face.

"Haaah" Mei gong sighed while giving into her son's cuteness.

"Anyways son now would you like to tell your parents about your Martial soul and innate soul power?." Lin Tian asked his son with his eyes shining with curiosity.

At his father's demand Long Yuan stood up from his chair and put some distance between him and his parents before summoning his Martial soul.

Soon after they could see a spear resting on their son's hand that was as long as him. They noticed that it had a dragon attached near the blade of the spear. Which had a mixture of both black and white colors. On closer inspection they could also notice some kind of ancient runes on the spear.

"This is my martial soul, It's pretty cool right?" Yuan Long asked his parents while clutching the spear tightly.

"How could something our Yuan'er show us be not cool!" Mei gong replied to her son with twinkling eyes.

'Kyaaa this spear really makes my son look cuter. Look at how determined he looks!!!!.' Mei gong thought to herself while holding both her hands tightly together.

"Now then son it does look pretty good and all but what is it called?" Lin Tian asked his son, getting more excited by the second.

"Oh right it's called the [Eclipse Dragon Spear]." Yuan Long told his father while summoning the martial soul back.

"Hmm, Is that so…" Lin Tian mumbled lost in his thoughts.

"I've never heard about anything like that though?" Mei gong told her son while slightly tilting her head.

"Maybe it is some kind of a new martial soul. It's not unheard of for some kids to have mutated martial souls" Lin Tian said as he smiled slightly.

"Also mother did you know that I had rank 8 innate soul power at awakening? The soul master who awakened me told me that it was pretty rare and I can become a titled Douluo if I try my best!!!." Long Yuan told his mother while having an excited expression on his face. It seemed that he wanted to get stronger.

Mei gong and Lin tian both looked at their son with a loving expression on their faces. They seemed to enjoy listening to their son talking about what happened at the awakening ceremony and he also described how it looked, mentioning the ancient looking rune engravings on the awakening chamber and how it fascinated him.

Soon the night got darker and Lin tian called it a day and told his son to go get some more rest. He and Mei gong both gave their son a kiss on the forehead before sending their son of to sleep.

Our son sure is growing up pretty well. I remember the days in which he was just a baby and we had to look after him all the time. Though surprisingly he did not cry much did he? And now look at him he now awakened his Martial soul and soul power. It also seems to me that our son is pretty talented and will grow up to become someone great in the future." Lin Tian told his wife while showing a melancholic and reminiscing expression on his face.

"He is our son. It's obvious that he would grow up to be a handsome and fine young man. I had known this from the day we first met our son." Mei gong told her husband while showing a proud expression on her face.

After making sure once more that his son had left for his room. Lin Tian turned to face his wife and told her with a serious expression. "They will come to meet me tonight so you go ahead and sleep on your own for today"

"But…." Mei gong was not able to speak her mind and soon became quiet.

"Honey, make sure that you are safe" Mei gong told her husband with concern showing all over her face.

"Hmm, Why are you worrying this much? It's not the first time that they had come to meet us. They can't hurt me and you know that." Lin Tian replied to his wife confidently pulling Mei into a hug and he patted her head lightly till she calmed down.

That night even though Mei gong tried her hardest to not worry she simply could not help herself and stayed up all night till her husband came back to her safe and sound.
