Leave her

A man was panting as he raced through the corridor, passing through different doors that led to different rooms finally he reached the room he was going to and pushed the door open.

He had been checking the time and calculating the time left for him to get to his boss and thankfully, he got there on time.

The pushed the door open and breathed out his words as he had been running. "Boss, I am here, I got here on time." He was Ace's assistant, Taylor.

Ace had a towel tied around his waist, with water dripping from his hair into his refined abs that would make any woman go crazy for him. He was crazily hot.

Luckily for Taylor, his boss was just coming out of the bathroom.

Ace wasn't friendly to his employees, causing all of them to fear him as they had witnessed what he could do if they failed or disappointed him.

"Here are your clothes, boss, just as you like them," Taylor had regained his breath and now handed the bag to his boss. Ace took the bag from Taylor.

"Find the girl on that phone, and tell everyone to get her no matter what it takes. Bring her here alive without a scratch." Ace ordered in the cold harsh tone he usually used on them. He tossed the phone to the bed before leaving for the bathroom to change.

After he left, Taylor went climbed to the phone to see a beautiful young girl and suddenly felt sorry for her. "I wonder what you did to awaken the master's wrath," Taylor muttered in a pitiful tone as if the girl would be dying soon.

With that, he called the men and told them exactly what Ace said after sending the photo of the girl to the leader.

Alix sat on the bridge gazing at the river at how the fishes swam with happiness and joy without any worries, she moved her gaze towards the other side and was met with two fish couples swimming happily together.

She had been in by the river staring at fish for close to an hour now but it only felt like minutes to her.

Still waiting, "These fishes have a brighter future than I do, they swim all day in their fairy tales without any worries. But my fairytale was ruined just a day and not any other day but on my wedding day. Why? Why?! Why does the world have to be so cruel to me?

I've always loved him and did everything he wanted but still, he cheated, he cheated on me..." Alix started to cry again.

She thought that sleeping with another man would ease her pain a little but it didn't do anything. She was still feeling sore from what they shared last night. It was lovely but the pain she felt made her go numb to the feelings for last night's event.

Alix had refused to go home, she could not bring herself to go back to her family. "Why is the world so cruel? I did everything I could, I loved him, I gave up studying business for him, and I bought him presents every day, why did he do this to me?" Alix screamed at the river, wailing.

There was no one around because today was a working day, so she vented all her anger on the river and fish, crying her eyes out. She continued crying and screaming in pain to the air when suddenly she heard the engines of cars coming her way.

Alix stood up with the thought that those cars parked were her family but different unrecognized men came out looking like thugs.

This caused Alix to take steps backward, closer to the edge of the bridge, "who are you? What are you doing here?" Why she felt unsafe was unknown to her and she was shaking at their appearances.

"Ma'am, you have come with us, we don't want to hurt you, just do as we say and come with us silently to avoid complications." The man in a black suit uttered. They were all in suits but in different colors. And the man that spoke seemed to be the leader.

Alix stared at them one by one but didn't count them. After pondering who they were she eventually replied, "no, don't come any closer, I don't want to come with you and if you come closer then I will jump into the river here." Alix looked at the river and then at the men.

The men began to urge her not to jump but she refused to listen to them. She was here to commit suicide anyway so doing it now was perfect.

When the situation got out of hand, the man decide to call their master. Ace's men were fast in finding her and the moment Ace heard what she was aiming to do. He informed the man that he'd be there soon so the man went on talking to her so she wouldn't jump.

A few minutes passed by and the men were still trying to make sense of her until a car drove into a park next to those cars.

Alix waited to see who was the driver and when he came out, her eyes widened at his presence. "What are you doing here?" She asked. It was the man she spent the night with.

"I'm guessing you forget our deal last night," Ace uttered with his hands in his pocket. He had changed his clothes while Alix was still in her wedding dress.

"I don't want to be yours, I was just desperate last night and..."

"You were sure, Alix, you sounded so decisive and now there's no turning back. I own you now so you can't die." Ace looked over his shoulder which was a signal to his men to go get her.

However, Alix was too depressed and unable to weigh everything that was going on so she just let herself fall into the water, surprising everyone who witnessed the scene.

"Boss, what should we do?" The leader asked.

Ace stared at the position she was standing before jumping into the water and was all ready to order his men to save her but he didn't trust them to that extent.

"You will pay for this woman, mark my words," Ace whispered to himself before handing his wristwatch and phone to Taylor.

He gritted his teeth in anger, losing the buttons on his black fitted shirt. With that, he dived into the river to save the young lady from drowning.

Alix gasped for air underwater, she couldn't hold her breath too long and had eventually given in to death.

Alix was already on the verge of closing her eyes as she rest deep into the water only to see some fall into the water.

When she couldn't breathe, she began to regret her action and it felt exceptionally cold in the water. The fish were just swimming their way around and then she saw Ace swimming her way before she closed her eyes, ready to give up.

Ace grabbed a hold of the unconscious lady with a tight grip and swam out of the water with her body in his arms.

Taylor and the others immediately rushed toward their master by the river bank. Ace brought himself out of the water with the girl still in his arms. Ignoring his men, he walked away while the men followed him.
