Flirt and Encounter (2)

They left the café immediately after Spade's commanding tone. Arren made no objections to this. The rain was still pouring heavily, so Spade used the umbrella to shield them from the rain, primarily for Arren, until they got into his car. It was only a few steps away.

Arren didn't pay attention to the details on the way to the car. They were in a hurry due to the rain, so he couldn't enjoy the feeling of having someone shield him from getting soaked.

He was in the shotgun seat before he knew it, and Spade was in the driver's seat, ready to go. Due to Arren's fever, Spade was in a hurry. Arren couldn't care less about his fever, but he was just following the alpha around and didn't have a choice.

They remain quiet inside the car. Spade was driving steadily but quickly. His attention was fixed on the road. Arren pursed his lips at this. He didn't like how the alpha was ignoring him.

"Which hotel would you take me to, Mister Investigator?" Arren asked innocently, a subtle play hidden within his tone. It was just a question, but it could have a different meaning in the other person's ears.

He smirked inside, how could anyone concentrate on driving when they had a beautiful passenger beside them? Arren was sure he could affect this alpha's self-control, but Spade was able to suppress it immediately. He needed to work harder in the future because he was such a difficult nut to crack.

The words had no effect on Spade, who continued to drive at his own pace, but one could see his amber eyes contract slightly.

"You'll know when we get there," Spade replied flatly. He already had a good understanding of the omega's personality; the more you responded to him, the more he took advantage of it by saying playful and teasing words.

It was preferable to end the conversation right away. It wasn't that Spade didn't enjoy talking with Arren, but the omega could be too much at times. His jokes may be insignificant to him, but they were a different story for Spade, who was completely captivated.

But Spade really underestimated Arren this time; he wasn't discouraged by the alpha's attitude or tone, instead continuing as if it was nothing.

"Ah, a secret, I see. I like surprises the most." Although Arren's voice by this time had become hoarse due to his sore throat, it was simply pleasant to the ears and gave off a sensual air to the listener. It was especially true for Spade.

Spade aggressively clicked his tongue on the side of his cheek as his expression darkened. Even with all these though he still chose to not said a word. But he swore that Arren would get what he wanted for riling him up, not now. Spade still needed to wait but once it was the right time, it was already the omega paying for his debt.

Arren, now convinced that the alpha didn't want to talk, uttered a low grunt before deciding to remain silent. The alpha was no fun at all. Arren was really sleepy now, he didn't want to sleep, but Spade wasn't cooperating with him. His eyes were becoming heavier by the second until he couldn't take it any longer and surrendered to the darkness.

After a few minutes of silence in the car, Spade cast a sidelong glance at Arren, who was already asleep. He leaned his head over the car door, hugging Spade's suit.

The omega's usually playful and naughty smile had vanished, replaced by a gentle and peaceful one. Arren's face could be deceiving at times because his delicate and soft features caused you to subconsciously lower your guard and protect him. When the omega was awake, his personality and facial expressions were completely different.

Spade didn't hold his gaze for long. He then slowed down and fiddled with his phone as he called someone.

"Your Majesty?" the other side immediately responded.

"Prepare me a room in the Emperor's Point Hotel. I'm on my way there," Spade said authoritatively. The other party did not ask any questions and simply confirmed. Every order of the Emperor was of the utmost importance, so no one dared to ignore it, and soon someone was dispatched to prepare his room in the hotel.

"One more thing, I need a doctor..." he paused before continuing, "I don't need to remind you about my requirements, do I?"

"Yes, Your Majesty," the other side said without hesitation, acknowledging the order.

Spade hung up the phone with a hum. He sped up and drove faster to the hotel. The drive was quite peaceful, and he didn't need to enter through the front entrance of the hotel but instead used a more convenient road for him.

Many people referred to Emperor's Point Hotel as the Imperial Hotel. It was because the imperial family had built the hotel specifically for the empire's delegates or special visitors. It was a very prestigious hotel not only within the empire but also throughout the world.

However, over time, the hotel also allowed some wealthy visitors from every kingdom and country to book a room as long as they could afford it. Some of the empire's banquets were also held in the hotel. The service was great, but the price of the room per night could make one hesitate unless they really had assets to back them up. It was also known that some personality's intentions to book a room in this hotel were that they could form some connections with others or to flaunt their status to others.

Spade didn't care about that. He rarely stays in hotels because, even when he travels abroad, they can afford to rent or buy a mansion for him to stay in. Spade could have brought the omega to one of his villas in the capital, but for obvious reasons, he couldn't, so his only option was to book a room in this hotel.

He drove easily through the Emperor's road. Spade slowed the car as he looked out the window, seeing some of his men waiting at the entrance made especially for him. He was the only one who could go through that door. The path was never open to the public and was always barricaded.

Spade pulled over in front of the entrance and unbuckled his seatbelt. Someone had already opened the car door for him. He stepped out of the car, and the bodyguard covered him with the umbrella.

He started walking to the other side, and Spade intended to carry Arren without waking him up. His movements were quick but gentle as he carried the omega in his arms, taking care not to wake him up or bump Arren's head against the car ceiling. Spade noticed the omega was lighter than the last time, and he couldn't help but frown.

The situation, however, was not appropriate for him to ponder this matter, so he quickly ended the thought and began walking in the pouring rain. Fortunately, other than two bodyguards shielding them from the rain, the entrance wasn't too far away.

Arren didn't wake up and he was still sleeping peacefully in Spade's arms. He had no idea he was being carried like a bride again. Spade secures Arren in his arms, clearly feeling the heat of the omega. It was unclear whether this was due to Arren's fever or his natural warmth, but Spade simply tightened his arms around the omega.

Spade paused for a moment as he walked through the entrance reserved exclusively for him. Except for them and the bodyguards, no one else was in the area. He turned around and looked at the man at his side; just by looking at his position, you could tell that the man's position was high in comparison to the others.

His chiseled and handsome face was enhanced by his buzz-cut hair, and his almond-colored eyes full of vigor and determination could melt anyone's heart. In front of Spade though the man has full of respect in his eyes and the way he bowed slightly speaks volumes about the status of Spade in the man's heart.

"Mn, You know how I hate rats running around and being rampant in my vicinity, right? Levin?" Spade's voice was deep, as was the meaning of his words.

The man called Levin nodded as he answered full of confidence, "You could be reassured, Your Majesty."

If Arren were awake, he'd be shocked to hear that name. Levin Ford, the chief of the Royal Guards and the Emperor's cousin, and, above all,... this book's male lead.
