I gently placed little Danilo in his Moses baby carrier that Cody, Willie and Ben had gotten for us. It was early afternoon by then and Otto gave us clearance to take him home because he was in perfect health and they had done extensive tests to make sure he was one hundred percent fine.
Every time I picked him up it felt like I was holding a glass figurine that I was scared to touch. I became aware of how big I suddenly was compared to his small fragile body. He still refused to open his eyes around me but seemed to be perfectly fine with looking at Bobby when he laid down on the bed with him cradled in his arms and it was time to feed.
Bobby chuckled the entire time as he breast fed Danilo who seemed more than hungry.
